Sebastian is worse than a prostitute. At least a prostitute will have sex with you if you paid for them.

Nice meta-game joke. I love it.

Why? He's boring and just as bad as Anders. I hate them both, to be honest.

No, a prostitute would have sex with you if their pimp (aka slaver) ordered them to. Or else they'd die. Sebastian is a Brother from a prestigious family. Not quite the same thing, toots.

I paid the goddamn DLC for him. So yes, I paid for him.

That's cute. More of BSN community's lack of logic at its finest.

I'm not the biggest fan of Sebastian. I like his accent and he has some really funny banter with some of the companions - especially the one, where Anders asks him, if he has Andraste at his crotch - his 'What?' a few octaves higher is precious.

But since I'm not religious in any way, I don't  really get into Sebastian and him constantly trying to convince every party member, that isn't Andrastian, to convert (Fenris and Merrill for example). And I don't like his reaction, when you let Anders live - not, that he is angry about it, that is understandable from his pov, but that he pouts like a little boy, is just cringeworthy.

But he is fun to have around, especially around the more cheeky companions, like Varric, Isabella or Anders

Tbh I think Sebastian is a nice guy (He put Wesley's name on the memorial in the Chantry, and performed some funeral-related services for Hawke's mom) but his actions in Act 3 is totally out of character, while he lamented that he would not waste the life of innocents to reclaim his birthright and always acts merciful toward others, but sparing Anders changes him to a completely whacko warmonger (he invaded Kirkwall in Inquisition). Oh let avenge my dead mother figure by sacrificing innocents for a meaningless war.

Crimson Vanguard: exactly. I really can understand, that he is pissed at Anders for killing Elthina, but it would have been more in character for him, had he attacked Anders or Hawke directly or sided with the Templars (like Fenris for example). Sebastian always semmed to be a man of honour and settling this matter directly, without involving innocents seem more like him

I've never heard a truly valid criticism of Sebastian (besides him being a bit boring) that goes beyond unfair bullying. The most common one was his "whining" when you refuse to kill Anders. These people don't consider how they'd react if their own family was just blown up and the killer was to be spared right in front of you. The fact that Sebastian will concede to your decision without attacking (unlike so many other companions in DA), and side with you on whichever path you take so long as you kill Anders, shows his respect for Hawke.

He's also surprisingly not very judgmental. When I first heard of the character I expected him to be an anti-mage preachy type. He is neither. Lastly, he's the only "romance" option that actually seems to be a politically legitimate and not outlandish one for Hawke: a noble who becomes Champion of Kirkwall.

Yeah, who would think a monk would try to convince people to follow his church's teachings.

Anyway, while Sebastian's threat is out of character, you could see it as him tipping over the edge into some emotional insanity.

Good point. He could just draw and fire like Legolas in the Two Towers film.

Sebastian was a pretty cool companion. Obviously based on a conservative character, and he adds a very needed variety to Hawke's party.

Becuase he tried to attack Kirkwall if you keep Anders alive. He's not better then Anders, to attack an city that doesn't even have Anders in it

He IS Alistair. Pretending to be all nice and moral untill things don't go his way. Then throwing a temper tantrum when you refuse to play executioner for him. At least to Alistair credit, he keeps to himself and doesn't cause trouble, either as king or drunk. Sebastian aways go on a killing spree. That guy needed a murder knife more then Anders at the last straw. He is the real threat.

Hey, this is the DA2 forum. No DA:I spoilers. :P  I'm referring to him in DA2 only. Funny though. I really thought Sebastian's threat would be an empty one made in anger. It's worth sparing Anders just for the lolz of making Sebastian a psychopath.

To be fair he had reasons to suspect that Kirkwall was hiding Anders. We know Anders wasn't in Kirkwall because Hawke & Varric told us. We would be in Sebastian's same ignorant position if we did not have that information, and we also would have guessed that Anders was probably still in Kirkwall.

I don't agree with his attack on Kirkwall, motivated by personal spite alongside actual concern for a mage terrorist. I think he had other things to worry about as ruler of Starkhaven. But that doesn't change that his character was a pretty cool companion. I liked Anders too. But Sebastian's story was pretty flushed out as well; he wasn't just a 2D character but had flaws and was genuinely likable on a whole.

*Wanna be Alistair* Sebesation is pretty, I might add. Even the guy I want to romace in DA4 is bit Sebastiony (although he's a GW with red hair and is rather serious and professional towards the IQ at first.... Sighs, and he's an archer). I may dislike Sebs, but I like the way he looks and talks. I could listen to him talk all day!
