I don't no if this is due to upgraded loot drops or a correlation with my increase in multiplayer level (156) but I am seeing considerably better drops from chests. Mainly a massive increase in purples. Over the past two days I have gone from having no purples to picking them up fairly regularly.

 Items I have gotten:

Superb Belt Of Stagger

Superb Ring of Attack

Multiple Superb Runes

Pyre of the Forgotten

Tenasarin

And useful rings, such as Enhanced Two fangs ring etc.

 

Once again, not sure if this is due to my level or increase purple percentage or not.

Both should gently increase your drop rate (so we understand).

I play regularly, a tend to save around 5k and but a run of large chests then repeat

I'm thinking of whether you regularly open treasures rooms as they add to your 'chest count'...

I try to open as many as I can. If the group are opening them, so do I. Playing with some friends today, and we usually open all the rooms. Loot junkies we are lol

I opened over 55 large chest over the weekend, I only saw 5 purples. and several superb runes. One a low level shield, another Longbow of the griffon (5th one), and another was a lower level bow called Perseverance. Another was a low level bow farslayer, and the last one was Starfang (also a duplicate  for me).

 

Over 650,000 gold spent on chests, and yes I open treasure room doors.

That's consistent with the notion that at a certain number of chest openings (including treasure room chests) your drop rate improves.

I am a chest junky and my purple drops also improved over time.

 

Jebbadiah's experience is of course different (with chests also), so we are dealing with fickle RNG data.

 

Blair has spoken of a gentle drop accelerator already built into the game, though clearly then that is prone to good old RNG...

5 Purples and several superb runes? I call that pretty lucky. So what if you had the Griffon before, that's actually a really good drop that you're basically just feeling jinxed for getting again. I know people that'd kill for that bow.

 

I got a great 2Hander recently, and that was mostly luck-- but I like to think it was my Katari charge on the boss finishing them.

That's hardly good luck, 2 of those purples were not even over level 10. One was level 18, and the other both duplicates, from over 55 large chest.

 

That's less than 1 out of 10 chest.

 

As for superb runes???? Really????

 

I've salvaged at least 40, and I still have over 5 of each type in my inventory in reserves.

 

Superb runes are useless, when you have no weapons to put them on.

 

And as for Longbow of the Griffon, it is pretty common knowledge that it's the most common high level unique in the game. I'd say it drops just as often as the high level blue weapons. So NO not very good luck at all.

 

And here's something else to consider when you say "I'm pretty lucky", I have not seen an upgrade or usable item since 400,000 gold spent. That's 250,000 gold spent, without seeing an upgrade or usable item.

 

That is pretty pathetic considering, I'm still missing about 10 best in slot items.

Superstition != Useful knowledge or actual fact. You got lucky with Griffon. I've only ever gotten one, ever. I've gotten hundreds of high level blues (L19+) total.

Tell that to my Hunter. He got a Bow of Cruel Redemption for Christmas and that's apparently all he deserves.

Are you serious? It was almost a month of playing regularly before I got my first purple and you got five in one weekend. Wow, you got it rough buddy lol.

I agree I didn't get a purple until I spent well over 100,000 gold as well.

 

That first month is really rough.

 

That may have been a month for you, for me it was about 2 weeks.

If so it makes absolutely no sense and you obviously didn't read my post.

 

Hard to be spoiled when you are still missing 10 best in slot items, after 650,000 gold spent, and no upgrade or usable items in the last 250,000 gold spent.

 

Looks like bait, just to keep me posting,... if so whatever, i'll bite for now.

 

Some people who have good rng, and get good loot, wanna mock, and make light of the situation, The truth is, the terrible rng loot system is completely broken and needs to be fixed.

 

I'll stop posting about how terrible it is, when I either quit the game, or they decide to fix it.
