Sounds like a conflict of numbers, so any mod armor-wise, or clothing may be causing it.  I know for the longest time I had no issues then started having certain NPC's wearing a certain type of helm to have no head just floating eyeballs.  And it never seemed to fix it when I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, removed mods i thought may have been causing it etc.  Not sure what happened to cause it.  But if I had to make a guess, it's a conflict with one of  your mods.  I don't recognize all the ones you have, but do any of the ones you have installed have multiple versions of the same armors that are supposed to be just one in the file?  Like if there is a red, blue, green and yellow version, and you are only supposed to have one color, do the mods have more than one color in the folder in the override?  Or potentially one or more mod shares a number with another of the mods and the two are conflicting/canceling each other out?

First of all, which mod/s did you add most recently?

Second of all, it sounds like you have two conflicting versions of female light armor installed somehow and the game just doesn't know which one to use.  I would guess (this is just a guess, as I'm going by mod names and don't have either of these mods myself) that the culprits might be Optional Clothing and the Royal Wedding Dress collection.  HOWEVER, as sylvanaerie mentioned, this could also happen if you have multiple sets of clothing from one mod installed for females.

In any case, you might want to try this program or else this other one to help you find duplicate, possibly conflicting files.

[ETA] I unfortunately can't vouch for either of those programs, as I play on a Mac, so download at your own risk.

I've used almost all the mods on your list, together and without any conflicts, apart from:

  • Ser Gilmore NPC
  • Skip the Fade
  • The Proposal
  • Theseus Male Body - (Note: IIRC, this is also included in NBaio; you may not need a separate install of it)
  • Optional Clothing (Is this the clothing from The Proposal mod?)
  • White Teeth
  • Slap Morrigan
  • Property Grid Ex-don't know what this one is for (I'd try to figure what this is, if only to eliminate it as problematic)

As mentioned above, what you are experiencing is indicative of either an Item Variation conflict, or missing assets... and since the gear that is affected is all vanilla, base game light armour, I would tend to rule out the latter, as the game would revert to the original assets if modded assets were not found.

So.... I'd suggest scanning your override for any files which contain arm_lgt in their name, possibly with a prefix that indicates it is for a female character (ef_, hf_, df_,). I'd also look for any GDA files which include armor_light_variation in their name... note you will get a hit on the Red and Gold armour for DL's Royal Wedding, but that light chest adds a new, male-only item which uses an Item Variation (54) far outside the range used by vanilla light armours (1-4 for DAO and 5 for DAA). (And is thus not a possible candidate for invisible  female chests.)

Then, temporarily remove any mods which meet those criteria and see if that resolves the issue.

My most recent mod is: Ser Gilmore NPC

Everything was fine until I installed this one! I checked the compatibility list for it and didn't see anything that would cause a problem. I love Ser Gilmore lol.

I am checking out the programs you suggested. Thank you for helping me. Have a great day!

Do you also have Karma's Companions base mod installed?  My recollection (again, I don't use this mod so I can't be sure) is that the Ser Gilmore mod requires the Karma's Companions mod installed, so that might be an issue.

Good luck - mod problems can be a real bugbear!

Ser Gilmore NPC does not require Karma's companions. I do not think Ser Gilmore does anything to female armor. Do you have any noble mods installed? The ones that add armor, weapons etc if you play a human or Dwarf Noble?

To me, it still sounds like you have conflicting dds or mesh file(s). I would delete Property Grid Ex because nobody knows what that is. :o Me included....

I would uninstall all the mods. Start a new game with none installed just to see if the problem persists. ????

Now that I think about this, I had a similar issue when I first installed the Dwarf Proportions Fix, and it turned out I just didn't have the right underwear mesh installed.  It could be worth double checking to make sure you have all the files installed that are required by your clothing mods.

Yes,The Optional Clothing is from The Proposal mod. My wedding dresses collection only has one dress folder in it. But that also may be the reason why my MC's wedding dress is never the one I choose. It's always a brownish color instead.

I have a mod called Human Female Proportions mix.It has all armor types for HF.The folder for light armor is:

hf_arm_lgta_0.mmh,

hf_arm_lgtb_0.mmh,

hf_arm_lgtc_0.mmh,

hf_arm_lgtd_0.mmh,

hf_arm_lgte_0.mmh,

hf_glv_lgt_0.msh.

Do you think I should delete this mod?

The light armor mesh is basically what tells the game how to position light armor on the gender and race specified, regardless of whether or not the character wearing the armor is player-controlled.

Actually Ser Gilmore conflicts with mods that add companions to the game, so Karma's + Gilmore is a definite no no.  Karma's is a kind of overkill anyway since once you get done recruiting every NPC under the sun, who needs the treaties?  I never used it, though I have used Gilmore and I liked him, I never take him to confront Howe in Denerim with either my HN or CE wardens as he overrides the dialogue there, and I think their grievance with Howe is a helluva lot more personal.  Otherwise I really enjoyed him.

Ser Gilmore comes with his own armor when you meet him, but it's the male version of Medium armor, so I don't think that's the conflict.

There is an addon that makes him compatible with Karma's mod, though, or so I've heard.

Is that tmp's proportions fix? If so, you don't have an armour mesh listed there (my install of that mod has several *.msh files) , so I'd say that is the likely suspect (and did I miss it in your list of installed mods... if so, I apologize)... I suggest either removing it or reinstalling from a fresh download to see if that resolves the issue.

That's possible, but if so, you don't need Karma's to make it run and at the time I installed it (right after it went voiced) it wasn't compatible with Karma's.

I will remove it  & re install it. I just tried to play DAO and got an error message that said that I need to re install my game. How can I do this if my game is now read only?

You should be able to find the files in your Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Core/Packages/Override files.  I am unsure of the pathing, I haven't had Origins on my PC in over a year now and if you used Steam (there is a different pathing I think if you used Steam to purchase and install).  Regardless, the files for Origins override are located in your Documents files.

if you can't get to the game controls on your desktop to use the game uninstall, go to your Control Panel and manually select it for Uninstall via that method.

Uninstalling will wipe the Override folder in your Documents as well.  Though this means you will have to track down all your mods and reinsert them in your fresh install instead of just removing the Override to your desktop and doing a mod by mod check.

I would just redownload and reinstall tmp's proportions fix to be 100% sure you have ALL the files you need for that.

I deleted the Human Proportions Fix mod & everything was cool again. I ended up uninstalling thru my Control Panel & re-installing the game & all my mods. I played a bit & noticed that the loading times lagged a bit,and going in or out a door I couldn't just walk through, took quite a bit longer, and even froze a bit. So,I clicked on Dragon Age Origins Setup Updater 1.05 thinking (foolishly) that it would help & got the Sorry something wrong with your game files. Please re-install your game message.

So I purged my computer of EVERYTHING Dragon Age & will re download & install DAO tonight. I even uninstalled Nexus,DAModder & BioWare . So,they will all be added tonight or tomorrow. All my saves are also gone. Good thing I wrote down all my mods lol
