The Executioner is a viable alternative for the Shadow too.

Granted, you lose 25% of your melee damage, but, Imo, the cd reduction is a worthy payoff, especially considering the damage of the handcannon.

Even in plat, soloing bosses like reapers or Collectors is possibile, if you host and reload cancel.

I like that personally.

Duration plus bonus power gives you two shadow strikes to neutralize two annoying infantry level enemies. Crusader gives plenty of punch to neutralize everything else, the weight glitch applies to the Crusader as well so CDs will be much shorter plus a duration infiltrator gives zero shits about CD anyways. Acolyte with incendiary for mobs and electric slash to detonate fire explosions.

Four if we count the Talon.

Let's call it three and a half.

This is the build I use, with either the Raider, Piranha, or Wraith.  It has what I consider to be the optimum combination of power, survivability, and versatility.  It's great on Gold, never really thought about whether it needs to be changed to be optimal for Platinum.  I don't usually SS twice in a cloak cycle, but I like to have the option to do it.  Normally, I SS once and then follow by repositioning, shooting, and/or heavy melee.  ES is great for "softening up" a group of mooks or detonating a teammate's tech explosions.

No, there's three acceptable weapons- you forgot the Raider.

Five with the Crusader.  I might be alone on that one, but I stand by it.  Good at any range and carries the best omni-blade.

Dude, no Omni-Blade?

Also, am I the only one who puts 3 into Electric Slash, even on a SS build?  I gotta have it.

People say "why build a Shadow without SS when she's the only one who can use it?" but the same could be said for Electric Slash.  I put 4 into it, even when focusing on melee / SS.  Now she has reach and flexibility.

In fairness, my Shadow probably wouldn't do too well in Plat, and I haven't tried her there yet.  She's pretty effective in Gold, but the slightest, tiniest misstep will leave her bleeding out on the floor.
