Okay so, the existing classes are fun. they make up a good combination of the various skills available to us in the single player. But I'd like to see some more multiplayer specific things. Things that aren't bound by the skills that exist in the single player, like say:
1) a pet class: Yes, the necromancer exists and if you REALLY stretch it, you can qualify her as a pet class, but the AI for her summonables are iffy sometimes, and the "pet" is only something you get while youre in that area, it doesnt follow you around, and it doesnt live for very long so its hardly a true pet class. an example of this would be a beastmaster-esque class.
Maybe its ranged (with a bow) or maybe its melee (2h or dual wielding daggers). One tree is for the beastmaster, his attacks, things that pertain to him, specifically, and the other is for his pet, the first ability you get is one which summons a beast, maybe a wolf or, if its a dwarf or a nug or something. Once it's summoned hitting the button again will tell the beast to "go for the throat", so it remains an active ability.
The beast's passives could be things like
- 'Take 'em Down': go for the throat now stuns the target, forcing them to the ground if theyre small enough
or - 'Bear': the summoned beast has a chance to be a bear, with increased aoe damage and damage resistance. Go for the Throat now heals the beast for 2% of health for 5 seconds after performing while 'bear' is active,
or - 'Dire Wolf':The summoned beast has a chance to be a Dire Wolf, with increased attack speed and critical chance. Go For The Throat now causes the wolf to howl afterwards, buffing the party's critical chance and damage for a short time.
(note: if someone selects the passives for multiple animals then the chance to be those animals on summon is divied up between them, so in this case the pet is either a dire wolf or a bear, if they only chose one, however then it is only that beast, not the original beast that you would have without the)
2) The Runecrafter: This one is a dwarven mage. Yes, I'm aware that dwarves can't actually become mages in the dragon age universe. But what if we made the runecrafter... Sandal. it wouldnt have to be Sandal himself, but it could be a mysterious, Sandal-like character. He's already shown an affinity for runes, just give him a staff which activates specific runes for attacks instead of channeling his power from mana, he's doing it from runes.
He could have abilities like:
- Sun Rune: plants a rune on the ground which adds fire damage for any allies who stand close to it (like within 5 feet). (upgrade)Consuming this rune increases the critical chance of everyone in the party for 5 seconds
- Lightning Rune: plants a rune on the ground which increases the attack speed, and reduces the cooldowns for any allies standing near it. (upgrade)Consuming this rune causes a chain of lightning to form between your allies, enemies caught within that chain take damage over time.
- Rune of the Shield: plants a rune in the ground which grants a shield to the ally with the lowest health/shield whenever an ally standing near it lands a critical strike (the shield is worth 25% of the damage). (upgrade)Consuming this rune grants everyone in the party full shields
- Consume Runes: Consumes all active runes, granting their boons (upgrade) the boons 25% longer.
what classes would you guys like to see?
