(to Gamer072196) I believe it has been confirmed that "The Black Emporium" will be free. I think a tweet stating this was featured in the thread about it in the "NO-SPOILERS section"
Do you have a link handy?

Yup, supposed to be free. I suspect we'll get it in a pre DLC update right before JoH comes out for the consoles.
The fundamental hold up is cc stability-its crashed on me so many times I can't count, granted its improving. Point is the absolute first thing that can happen in DAI is likely a crash from the cc or a bad pass to the dialog and cutscenes stranding the player -How did that make it to commercial sales?

Are you speaking of the game, or the emporium? Hopefully not the latter as you would be breaking NDA. If the former, I haven't had any crashes in the CC and I've spent hours in there doing likeness replications. Haven't had any cutscene issues either, and I'm playing on the latest patch.
I have a sneaking suspicion the delay is due to timed exclusivity.
Let's not even go there....
The PS4 and last-gen players are still twiddling their thumbs waiting for Hakkon, myself included.
If freakin Black Emporium is exclusive for X Bone and PC only for 2 months again, I'm gong to be beyond pissed.
I heard some people mention that BE will only be available after we get to Skyhold. Where did this come from, and is there truth to it?
Having to play through nearly half the game with a face I'm not very happy with just so I can finally change it sounds like a lot of bullsh!t to me. But then, denying us the storage chest and misleadingly-named "tinting" table until then is also major BS. And what's the reasoning behind that? What?

Isn't it obvious? We aren't supposed to get good looking armor or weaps until right before the final fight, duh. Le RNG lulz.

Ah, yes. The RNG! RNG is my favorite system ever because there's nothing better in life than gambling, and I hope every single game ever from now on features it, and Bioware are the best developers in the world for making this wonderful choice. I also hope in future games, Bioware make it so that companion approval and disapproval is also RNG-based; I just love it so much! Praise be to Bioware and their impeccable decisions and game design. Developer of the Year, all years!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I must repeatedly beat my head against my desk after all that painful sycophantic ass-kissing.

Is this Bioware custom to announce something through interviews, social media but not in their own forum? ![]()
If it doesn't have new hair/horn/beard options and Qunari armour they can shove it.
I don't play as Qunari so, while more options is always great, I don't want them to shove it; they should release it.
Patch? It's gonna be free? ![]()
I'm positively thinking that the delay is because they are cooking something more to us...THINK POSITIVE!!!
Prepare to be sorely disappointed!
The more likely scenario based on Bioware's track record with this particular game is that they are spending most of their efforts on Multiplayer trying to make it work better.
They know they completely screwed up with the Single player element of the game so it would not be worth their time and effort to put too much into it because the return on their investment won't be measured in money, unlike Multiplayer.
Black Emporium Release date on Origin is May 5th. Open Origin and look at available content.

There are two kinds of people...
I don't see what the problem is. BW's not forcing you to take the micro transactions in any way, shape, or form. Besides, I highly, highly doubt that micro transactions would be included in SP.
As for BE, I'm assuming it'd be released some time after JoH. Pretty sure it won't be a free DLC since it'd be quite a bit to get for it to be a free DLC. Most likely going to be about $5 (maybe $10) if I had to guess.

Clearly, EA likes micro$transactions in multiplayer games.... Their FY15 financials show a healthy micro$trasaction revenue stream.
The problem you don't see is the deliberate design mechanics that forces a player to grind for hours to get a simple gear upgrade but can be bypassed by a micro$transation. In PvP or during Raid engagements the team with the most micro$transactioned gear will always win. The free to play DRIFT MMO, as an example, showed me this aspect the moment I accepted to be in a RAID party. Since I refused to pay to upgrade my gear, I was never able to properly compete with other players or be a useful member of a RAID team.
Now, If you have a large wallet.... by all means micro$transaction to your heart's content.... EA loves a player like you.

The BE will arrive as a free patch in early MAy, 2015. A very welcomed feature is "The upcoming update will provide users with the ability to finally edit their visual appearance at any point in the game"

Ah, "at any point in the game," that's good! Reassuring! ... Unless they actually mean, "at any point in the game after reaching Skyhold." ![]()

I couldn't find a larger image but here's the Origin description of the Black Emporium.
Apparently it'll be accessed from the War Table, will have 4 new shops sell rare and unique new armor, weapons, schematics, and materials.
Xenon will return. And we'll be able to customize our appearance and at any time. Nothing explicitly stated about any new hairstyle options though. And that makes me a sad panda ![]()

I could understand that if the grinding itself was a strain, but it isn't (unless you don't like the multiplayer). Besides, I've been playing DA MP since launch and haven't spent a single cent on it, yet I have almost all the top-tier weapons and armor (armor's a very rare drop from chests, so you're better off just crafting the armors even though cloth RNG sucks) as well as accessories.
Using microtransactions doesn't increase your chances of getting better equipment in DA MP. 90% of the chests you open are bound to have useless low-tier gear that you'll end up scrapping anyway.
So no, you're not forced to do anything. If you don't want to grind and you don't want to use microtransactions, you can just stop playing. Simple.

and nothing about importing/exporting existing faces... sigh
