These are my choices:

  • Tactical Scan
  • Arc Grenade
  • Homing Grenade
  • Biotic Sphere
  • Dark Sphere

This is coming from someone who never played multiplayer :) What are your choices?

I they special abilities of the N7 characters, especially "Shadow Strike" and "Annihilation Field", will be in the SP-part of the game.

Annihilation Field

Dark Sphere

Shadow Strike

Ballistic Blades

Recon Mine

Actually, I would want stuff like Tactical Scan/Devestator Mode/Adrenaline Rush/Marksman/Ballistic Blades to be abilities granted by specific suits of armor rather than being a determind skillset.

And I would merrily cast any powers aside if I can just use Annihilation Field on a Vanguard with Biotic Charge and Nova. I wouldn't need anything else anyway.

This is very tough. My top six includes Singularity because the MPer version is different (and much more fun). Added a sixth incase it already counts as a single player power and will probably get some redesign anyway.
Singularity
Annihilation Field
Dark Sphere
Biotic Orbs
Ballistic Blades
Phase Disrupter

There are a huge amount of other powers that I think should be considered (and probably some I have overlooked). To me these were what made MPer so fun.
Smash
Seeker Swarms
Biotic Sphere
Lash
Poison Strike (or a variation of it)
Devastator Mode
Hawk Missile Launcher
Shadow strike
Devastator Mode
Hex Shield
Siege Pulse
Krogan War hammer and powers
Flamer
Snap Freeze (Although a nerfed version that doesn't go through walls)
Tactical Scan
Cain Trip Mine (although a longer arming time or some other mechanism to genuinely make it a trap rather than spawn nuker)
Omni-Bow and powers

They will need to be careful how these things are selected because there will be some broken combinations, Nova and Annihilation field for instance.

Any primer and throw.   Singularity, Reave, Dark Channel, Warp, Biotic Sphere (in some instances if it's specced right).  Just give me throw with any of these and you'll make me an extremely happy person.

Annihilation Field seems to be fan favorite :)

How do you see those powers to be granted by armors? Take Tactical Scan, for example. Will it simply apply an AoE debuff?

Is there a video of a Destroyer using the missile launcher? All the Destroyer videos I've seen use the Devastator Mode and some rapid fire weapon :)

I've also read that Omni-Bow is somewhat lackluster on higher difficulties (Gold and Platinum).

What if they give a 10 second cooldown to Throw? :P

I'm sure there is a video of hawk missile launcher somewhere but I can't be bothered to look. If you haven't played it, it is weaker than than Devastator mode and multifrag grenade which are both extremely strong, but it is still somewhat effective and the balance will be tweaked anyway. Another problem is that it shoots things like banshees and praetorians triggering their defense mechanisms at times you don't want to be shooting them. I do like the idea though that soldiers should have an option to have a passive increase to their dps and cc at a cost of shields, I like the design.

The omn-bow was extremely weak when it was first released but it was buffed to become quite respectable (higher levels it is probably better because of more armour units), especially the armour piercing arrows. Again, it is overshadowed by cain mines, but is still quite a fun mechanism to play around with.

I found this video. So it basically autofires whenever you put your crosshair on the target? Sounds and looks nice, kinda like the Predator cannon from the movies :)

Cain Mines are extremely OP, I'm not sure if there are powers that can outdamage them :D I'm generally not a big fan of omni-tool weapons, though I like bow more than a blade ;)

Yes, that's how the hawk missile launcher works. The Omni-Shield is pretty cool as well. Not even a power as such but well worth having in ME4.

I haven't tested it or anything, but some of those DOT powers may actually be more powerful.

Reave, Dark Channel, etc.

Dark Channel (and reave for that matter) was actually in SPer in ME3 with Javik and then bonus power I think. It was pretty cool, but Cain Mines were obscene. Designed as a trap but in reality could be used as a powerful grenade.

Rather simple, specific armors grant a specific ability you can use that is exclusive to them (or if we get individual parts again, the power would be a set bonus for example). Think the standard survival armor can administer extra adrenaline on demand -> Adrenaline Rush as extra power. Something like the T5-V has a built-in Devastator Mode that you can toggle, salvaged Geth/Synthetic parts used to make armor grant the Tactical Scan ability.

Just an idea to diversify the available skillset for the player and make the armor choice more meaningful.

Smash

Lash

Dark Sphere

Ballistic Blades

Shadow Strike

There were just so many awesome powers in mp. Hard to pick 5. For visuals something like Blade Armor would be cool.

Ah, I see, so like a regular power only independent from the general skill tree, affected by the armor upgrades and mods. This is an interesting idea, never thought of that. I'm not sure if tying it to the armor itself is a good idea though (I'd hate to wear some sh*tty-looking armor to have access to Tactical Scan) but tying it to certain mods should be great. So you have your basic armor, add a Quarian Scanner mod and you get access to Tactical Scan. You will then be able to evolve the scan by modifying the mod via some upgrades.

Hmm, personally I would not want swords in ME:Next. And Smash does look cool, but it reminds me of Iron Man 2 too much :D

Would be subject to lots of discussion I'm sure.

Having a power tied to equipment independant of an individual player character's class/skillset could result in interesting skill builds and playstyles. It might also add more flexibility, for example you know the upcoming mission is going to be against mostly synthetic enemy types, you can select an armor that grants an ability that's particularily useful against synthetics, without having to reset your character's class build. Depending on how equipment progress/customization is handled in the game, it could open a second skill set to build up and optimize, seperate from character skills. Equipment management could be more than just "that's got the best defensive values and this gun has the strongest punch" as different sets, the different variations for each individual set and stuff like equipment synergy (using that omnitool/bio-amp with that weapon and this armor) could add a lot more complexity and flexibility.

Say the type of omnitool sets what kind of omnitool melee type you get (an omni-blade or an amni-shield) or perhaps a short lived tactical cloak instead of a melee attack, the bio-amp adds either a biotic dash as enhanced movement or empowers your omnitool melee attack with a biotic effect (applying warp for better damage for an omni-blade, or something a throw for more force for a omni-shield bash, or perhaps a temporary biotic barrier.

So much more you can do with equipment instead of just assigning performance values.

Why not all of them?

I mean, it's kinda waste of ressources to creat something for MP and then not use it in SP as well, isn't it?

So please Bioware, think about synergy and don't be stupid. Give us errything you creat for MP in SP and the other way round. You know, like Collectors, mor kits per class, new weapons and maps. Can't be that hard to do.

TOP PRIORITY:

annihilation field!!

tactical cloak

charge/poison strike

noteworthy:

snap freeze

shadow strike

stasis

dark channel

reave

singularity

warp

flamer

I want to see vanguards combat roll/dodge be teleportation and them also being able to charge through enemies (similar to poison strike). Keep an adept similar to the fury with teleportation, heck id even love to see an infiltrator with teleportation who has shadow strike, however shadow strike needs a proper buff to scaling and more variants in its strike. (without the sword and closer to an assassin!) Reave closer to ME2!! lastly for nostalgia bring stasis back, the power has been vastly underrated and perhaps needs a buff, make it do damage or trap bosses for a short while/make them move slowly.

Why am I the only one to include Throw?  lol   Throw is the bomb.

I love using metaphors from two decades ago.  It makes me feel so relevant in today's youth culture.
