except snakecode, that while I am a loyal customer, I did not buy DA2 at full price (like 5 or 10 dollars) and after my experience with this game, I will not be buying the DLC nor another dragon age game at launch.

and my experience with this game has also soured me to the next ME game and I will probably not only not buy the game at launch, but it will be the first ME game that I don't buy the collectors addition of. and unless bioware can show me they can still make a quality game that is not built to suck in casual gamers, they have lost me as a customer.

I think they are busy working on an expansion pack.

They used to comment a lot and it bit them right in the ass.

There must be a good reason why their comments(Bioware) backfired - different outcomes from what were promised to the community for example?

The precious little flowers are too sensitive to engage criticism from their fans. It's curious: They had no problem being here when they were trying to sell us the game. ;)

I think this comment may sum up the absence of Bioware representatives when the game is finally released. I wish this is not true though...

In fairness, people said this after DA2 and after ME3 as well. I'm by no means attempting to belittle or invalidate your likely-very-honest statement, but from what I've gathered across the net and IRL, DAI has a stronger overall reception across the fandom than either of those games, especially DA2. By all means, post, get your voice heard, but I can't help but feel a supreme sense of deja vu whenever I read this sort of line, and I think, when the full fan response is weighted, Inquisition may have actually earned ME4 a few launch sales.

Expansion pack in the form of DLC or the next installment(Dragon Age 4) ?

"Expansion pack" is frequently used to denote a piece of post-release content that is quite large to the point that the term "DLC" as we conventionally apply it would not do it justice. An example would be Dragon Age: Origins' "Awakening", sold on its own at the time as a solid 20+ hour post-narrative expansion of the story. These types of content are increasingly rare in the game world, but there are still some notable holdovers. They're also a thing that many BioWare fans would absolutely love to see brought back, especially for Inquisition considering how it concludes.

Oh, no question about it. It's DLC-O-RAMA from now on.

Can anyone who played JoH think this is cut content?...

Yeah, it's sad. There were some devs who would show up to just talk  not sell something or make unofficial sales pitches. Alan specifically. The writers would show up and just  talk in the character threads. Dunno why it stopped but this idea that the only reason they showed was to try and sell the game is just silly.

Probably because marketing sold us a Ferrari and what was delivered was a Volkswagen Beetle.. Hard for them to defend. Yes? (From a PC gaming contols PoV, from mage spell restrivtions PoV, from an drunkard combat AI PoV...etc)..

The devs don't control the marketing. There's no point complaining to them about it.

The value of having devs here is that they can answer questions about mechanics and lore.

I hope they do use cut content for DLC.

There will always be cuts. Not using that content later, and instead creating entirely new content, is just inefficient.

No wonder there's little interaction. DAI hardly added much to the lore, most regulars are well familiar with the established lore ever since DAII and DAI cracked down hard on game mechanics, so if there was anything to discuss about those, it would be why some were dropped like a sack of unwanted kittens, which is hardly a favourable course of discussion.

(to Fidite Nemini) I consider DA:I as adding plenty to the lore what with its revelation about the seekers, the elven pantheon and ancient history, bits of Tevinter and its culture and so forth.

Yeah, DAI added quite a bit. I may not have agreed with how much of it was represented, but there's a lot to learn from the game in general.

Paying for a DLC that was cut content is not Kosher.  It's an abhorrent practice.

It also shot a bunch of holes in the lore that was already present.

JoH did not strike me as cut content as much as it seemed more like it was made post-response to the game.

(to Rawgrim) Well, I suppose the holes still counted as adding something?

So is it preferable for that content to never see the light of day?

Holes tend to make things spill out of them, so I dunno.

(to Rawgrim) Think of them as complimentary! New lore is added and you get some fresh new holes in the lore as a bonus!

Now comes with a roll of duct tape by the courtesy of "Headcanon Inc." for all your plot-hole patching needs.

The point being they are the only one available to rant against.... very unfortunate.. any toxicity lies at the feet of marketing and mgt for launching a crash prone game.

The value of having devs available, is immesurable.... only to fall by the way side because of markeying and mgt decisions when gamers experience a crap game.

Sure, they don't have to interact and this forum can get really heated. But from observation I can say that when the devs interact, things actually tend to get more civil. If they interacted a lot, it might be able to create a healthier environment overall. It's easy to curse into a void, but things tend to be phrased more constructively if the target is interacting with you.

Spot on, I've been saying this repeatedly if they were more transparent about discussing design decisions etc there would be far less heat on the forum. The absence builds up resentment and people naturally get more heated,

No... what is preferrable it is made freely available.... as in "we ran out of time to complete it before launch date"
