This is a thread about the very simple yet massive hit with the internet that is the Five Nights at Freddy's Trilogy. Since this thread apparently doesn't exist according to bioware's search engine, this thread is here now, to talk about the lore of fnaf, what you like or dislike the most, the characters of the series, let's plays by folks like Markiplier or Jacksepticeye, and all the plethora of fan made content such as art, games like Five Nights at Disney's or One Night at Humpty's((a very good game I suggest folks check out))

With the series now being concluded with the third game, let's get to talking about...

Its only a hit with pre-teens and the youtubers who want to profit off of said pre-teens.

So therapeutic seeing those mechanical monsters taken apart.

Even if it's by a child murderer.

Seriously though. FNAF is pretty overrated and bad.

Seems the fandom is at an accelerated pace as well. Went all the way to the third stage, "Everything about this sucks" in less then a year? I'm pretty sure it's less then a year.

So by the time October rolls around things should have shifted from stage 4 "This used to be god but now its salt" to "It's a classic, the flaws are forgivable", and then final stage, "I like this series, you've probably never heard of it."

I was never part of the fandom though.

Markiplier is pretty cool setting aside his poor taste when it comes to this particular game.

Ya'll say that like it changes things. :P

The fandom stages still apply, even to normal folks thanks to the collective consciousness effect the internet has on people with its sheer peer pressure abilities.

Stage 0 - First Contact: "Hey there's this new thing out, come check it out"

Stage 1 - Spread and Rise: "This thing is pretty awesome, it's the best thing ever"

Stage 2 - Over-extension: "This first thing was good, but this second thing isn't as good"

Stage 3 - Rapid Decay: "Everything about this thing sucks, how did anyone ever like it?"

Stage 4 - Attempted Rationalization: "This thing was good at one point, but now its just utter ****"

Stage 5 - Historical Precedence : "This things not as good, but its old, so it gets a pass"

Stage 6 - Rediscovery: "Hey there's this old thing out, come check it out"

It sometimes happens quickly, or slowly, and the numbers vary. But all things pretty much go through this exact process, including people.

Personally I am not a fan but it isn't hard to see why it is popular, it is different and a unique concept, it is simple enough that anyone can pick up and play yet it is not without a learning curve and it's secrets and it is effective at what it does.

There is also it's unique storytelling method and a sense of mystery that keeps players searching for clues in order to unravel it if you are prepared to dig a little deeper.

I once saw the movie Freddy Got Fingered. Horrible.

I learned my lesson from that day forward. To never engage myself in anything that has the name Freddy in the title.

They're good games, plain and simple. Creative, minimalistic, somewhat challenging, and atmospheric. Great for parties also.

Problems are the very little replay value for such short games and the obnoxious fandom (to be fair, some of the fangames are pretty well made). Getting the good ending in FNAF3 was pretty damn archaic, as well.

On topic:

I really wish it ended at the last one. It seemed like a perfect end. That picture is just overdoing it. But we'll see. At least Scott has seven or so months and on a fitting date.

Pretty much this, take a loud obnoxious youtuber (like that guy with glasses and dark hair, can't remember his name) and massively overreact and play the fool. Best video was Elders react video. Almost none of them got scared, and quite a few of them found the game dull and boring.

IKAROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, on topic Five Nights Of Furries is a shitty internet fad where everyone gets to watch Pewdiepie scream like a little girl. That's the only reason it's popular. It is a fad, followed with Destiny hating and 343, the hype for Battlefront III and the new CoD.

Slender was more entertaining at least.

^Where is that minigun angel from?

On topic: I find the counter-fanbase to this game no less annoying than the actual one. Reminds me of Bioshock Infinite with one half was saying it was the Second Coming and the other calling it "objectively terrible".

I took the time to search for it.

Thanks

Never played the games, I probably never will as it just doesn't interest me from a gameplay standpoint.

However I do enjoy watching all the lore and timeline theory videos out there as it shows that a lot of thought has been put into the story once you peel back the layers.

I'm going to quote my 11 year old brother about this game.

It's really boring to play by yourself, way more fun to watch people get scared playing it on the internet.

An eleven year old doesn't find this game scary, and considers it a puzzle game.

I think that's all I need to say.
