I see a lot of people praising Dragons Dogma, but the way it handled quests, the lack of easy to use or understand map, and non-combat aspects of the game weren't good in my opinion.

I agree. It's just that the epic battles made up for it. It just has a lot of potential to be built on and improved.

I don't see Dragon's Dogma. The best action RPG in modern history. 

 

Dragons Dogma let me be the type of mage I wanted to be while DA:I let me be what Bioware thinks the type of mage I want to be lol.

PS1 role playing at it's finest... Beyond the Beyond. the really funny thing about that game is that I finished it two or three times and put around 300 hours in it total.

To be fair to RPGCodex, there's three reviews planned and this is just the first. It's probably the most negative as the other two reviewers don't hate the game like Roxor.

Anyway it's easy to dismiss the review based on the hyperbole and tone, but it's hard to argue with the core points made.
