Well everybody what type of Musical Sountrack should NME have?

After a long period of contemplating I would like N:ME to go kind of Classical like 2001: A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner.

I hope for a more ME1 feel with more synth and electro music and less instrumental one. Sam Hulick is a must. The guy is a genious IMO.

I love Sam Hulick's stuff to bits!

Mmmmh... something like this sounds promising :D

But really, in general I would just love a combination of the synth feel of ME1 and the emotional side of ME3, sprinkled with epic music like the Suicide Mission theme

I'm just hoping for something like ME1 or ME2, there are days (like today actually) that I wake up not feeling specially like going to college then I put the Suicide mission theme (actually familyjules7x guitar cover) while I have breakfast and man, I get pumped to do just about everything.

I thought Arrival had a great mix of ME1's synth and ME2's orchestral styles

ME synths + ME2 orchestrals + ME3 emotional instruments = perfection.

I would also want some ambient soundscapes while exploring

Personally i'd like Sam Hulick, Sascha Dikiciyan, Cris Velasco & Christopher Lennertz to all return. For Mass Effect has a dinstinct, iconic musical sound/style, imo you can't really dievate from that too much. Which for such a long runnning series you need that continuity, its important to the universe imo.

At the sametime i'd like to see new additions in the likes of Jon Hallur Haraldsson especially(the Eve Online composer, amongst other things)work on the ME4 soundtrack. I think his kinda sound/incredibly atmospheric musical style in particular woud really suit the ME universe, it has that perfect sci-fi/space vibe. He'd be a great addition to the Mass Effect soundscape imo. Also recently i was listening to the Velocity 2x Soundtrack. I was thinking its composers James Marsden & Joris De Man(of Killzone fame) would also be great additions as like Jon Hallur Haraldsson as they would add something a bit different yet would fit the universe perfectly. Futuristic & very sci-fi, synthy n melodic, very rich and atmospheric, somewhat melancholy, not so orchestral. hey'd enrich the musical escense(esp JHH). All three are highly talented composers imo. They've all made make some truly wonderful video games scores, the kind that actually adds to the game and makes them better. It wouldn't do ME4 any harm to have them on board.

The one thing I am not concerned about in ME:N is the music. They did such a bang on job in the previous games, I trust them to get it right again.

Less electric, more instrumental. More epic.

Whatever type of music it is, I hope there's more ambient music - on the ship, on any big hub (like the Citadel or Omega), on planets etc. I don't like it when everything's quiet. If it's quiet, it should be for a reason - like creepy suspense or because we're in the vacuum of space.

I'm hoping for a good mix of classical/theatrical/ambient on missions, more ambient at "home" (whatever home may be, ship or settlement), with dubstep/rock/metal for (hopefully a plethora of) nightclubs and combat.

I guess asking for MUSE to compose the entire score would be a bit too much?

If they don't bring Sam Hullick then I hope for Jon Hallur. The guy did EVE online music...a great talent.

I decided to play Caldari just because of this.

ME1's soundtrack is simply awesome. I can't really say I recognize a lot of themes from ME2 or 3 other than the obvious like TIM's theme, ME3's leaving Earth song, and the best song ever composed for a game Suicide Mission. Even then those are just really awesome songs, but none of them feel unique to ME and ME only. Compare that to something like Vigil that just screams Mass Effect.

When you play ME1 music you just know that it's Mass Effect music. You could pick a ME1 song from thousands of other songs at random, without knowing you clicked on a ME1 song, and just go "yeah... that's definitely ME1".

Well, and the music from the Afterlife, which wasn't composed for ME2 specifically, but through some detour ended up in an EA corporate stock collection, from which it was dug up again by someone from the ME developer team.

I thought Mass Effect 3's soundtrack was spot on and a blast. Inquisition's on the other hand, was totally weak with few decent pieces.

A return to form to Mass Effect 2's soundtrack wouldn't be too bad, but I hope they stick to what made the ME3 soundtrack great.

Just adding a couple of tracks to get some more inspiration for ME.

This is pretty sick for MP fights against synthetics. Hope for something similar minus the little lyrics at the beginning

I like also something similar for exploration.

This one I absolutely love

Am I the only one that finds ME1 soundtrack incredibly boring and ME2's Suicide Mission highly overated? I much prefer Arrival's soundtrack for ME2, ME3's Reaper Chase, Mars, Surkesh, and much of the ME3 Omega soundtrack.

I am not a fan of the orchestra sounds in Mass Effect, leave that for Dragon Age. With Mass Effect 4, I want pure synth soundtrack.
