a closer look at fade cloak...

This ability seems to be buggy particularly with elementalist when he has flashpoint initiated, this in turn causes the dreaded fade cloak exploit to be taken advantage of.
Another example is pre patch, AW could use it with no cool down after spirit blades.
So I'm wondering, what are the exact causes of fade cloaking exhibiting such qualities? Is it the cool down times/passives or dmg upon detonation? Perhaps both?

omfg this glitch is still around? It's been what, two months? This glitch literally lets you instant kill all enemies while being invulnerable through the entire length of the mission. It breaks multiplayer and it STILL hasn't been fixed? lol... rip da franchise

Please, as if invincible players have ever killed a pvm game. Even when pvp games have invincible people they can continue to thrive (COD).

There's another issue with Fade Cloak I've noticed which I don't recall being mentioned on the forums, though it might be server/lag related I guess? Sometimes, during the supposed two seconds of Fade Cloak's invulnerability phase, I actually have gotten knocked down, and taken damage on multiple occasions. So yeah, that's just...awesome.

I once had a d*** druffalo charge at me and I fade cloaked (in time mind you). It still gave me a [very short] ride on the draffalocoaster.
Wanted to fade step through a chargin draffalo and the result was the same ![]()

I think it is important to address this glitch before dragons are released, or it might diminish the rewarding experience and fun of dragon slaying.
Hopefully most players will not be able to kill a dragon on perilous. If the dragon drops unique items, and If the dragon can be dropped with fade-cloak, every player will fade-cloak the dragon to death so as not to fall behind...or to just cheat.
If the dragons just drop extra gold, I guess it wouldn't matter.

Yeah, that is pretty common. I notice it most against the RTC.

You're not actually invulnerable to everything under FC. Just targetting and most targetted damage (fall damage still hits you for example). You can debuff on the initial cast, but during that 2 seconds you can still be knocked down, stunned, etc, even if you won't take damage.

I tried FC on the Necro once I think. At that time it seemed to not do anything, even upgraded. (Well, it DID cloak briefly, yes)
Could have been me, but I never took it again.

You need to stand inside enemies to hurt them.

Maybe lag? Works fine with me. It's one of the best abilities for necro IMO, helps a ton with survivability. Great synergy with clean burn too.

Which its not that easy due to enemy movement, the best way to do it with a necro is using Winter's Grasp first. ![]()

Yea, lag, inexperience and impatience. I guess it would work nicely with PotA but I never tried that.

Or after knocking them down with walking bomb. Bomb an enemy, detonate, FC inside an infected mob and watch the whole spawn explode.

I use it more defensively with my AW, and to tank commanders.

I'm surprised it doesn't generate walking fortress upon detonation.....

This ability is a very very good one that keeps mages immune/invisible from dreaded long ranged attacks, and has a meager 12 cooldown and upgraded it deals 1000x weapon dmg with a close range radius. It's situation for mages but it's a bread and butter combo starter for cillian.

Flashpoint allows a free cool down after landed a crit so seems to be working as intended

Considering how it allows the caster to move through enemies unhindered, and physical attacks typically just whiff the air when phased out, then why would (physical) attacks be allowed to touch the caster while phased and knock them down to any extent? It just doesn't make sense. And that leads me to the other part of the issue; taking damage during the invulnerability phase of Fade Cloak. The ability clearly states that no damage should be taken during the two second duration, though still taking fall damage is understandable. Another problem is Decloaking Blast occasionally not working at all, even when clearly within range to damage enemies.

Part 1: I don't claim to understand the fade, just how FC fails to prevent being knocked down.
Part 2: Blame lag + Network / Offhost / Positioning issues. Haha. Best get used to standing inside enemies.
