Note: FRIENDS tab, NOT global leaderboard. Please don't skewer me, I know I'm a scrub already.

 

Background story: when I noticed this happened last weekend, I tweeted to BioMasika (Graham Scott) and The BainTrain (Chris Bain) ribbing them that the unspoken competition was heating up. Both rose to the challenge, we joked about holding a smack-talk grudge fest and livestreaming it... and, well, #DragonsNDrafts was born.

 

BillyPLS Buskell and BLAR Brown may drop in for color commentary. 

 

 

There will be booze and wildly inappropriate comments on mic. There will be Threatening and Perilous runs. There may even be some Level 1 how-quickly-will-we-get-thrashed shenanigans. No reveals of anything regarding MP, just a night of some fun laughs and hopefully me topping a couple of devs a few times.

Also part of my reasoning for suggesting we do it in the evening. I'd remembered the request made a few times. Love that we're all on the same mental wavelength regarding the name. LMAO

 

Now, this is a fan-run stream. Not BioWare-official like #DragonsNDonuts on Fridays. But I still think it's gonna be entertaining to watch!

People who stream on twitch are usually recording it, and can upload it to either their twitch channel or their youtube channel...

Yes, the stream will be archived on Twitch and Engineerista will upload it to YouTube as well. I'll post both links in here for later viewing.

And no worries! I just hadn't planned on "advertising" it here since it isn't an official stream and there won't really be plans for discussing official game stuff, so didn't figure there'd be a big interest.

No, grab is from this weekend. My prestige is low because I've only been playing DAMP on the weekends (been playing SP during the week), so I suppose I am one of those dreaded "casuals". I only have so much gaming time between real life obligations and it gets split among other games as well, so I just never poured heart and soul into gaining points.

I just found it funny I was tied with two BioDudes. LOL

Yeah, It's been so long not playing that I didnt notice that you were looking at the FRIENDS tab, not the GLOBAL tab. I was like: "417 points as number 6 on the leaderboards?". My bad actually!

I think being "casual" is more of a benefit to you than a detriment - especially in this game!!

Hah, no worries! LOL Yeah, 600 is the bare minimum to break the top 100 on PS4 global and that ceiling has probably gone up since a few days ago.

 

I pay no mind to the global leaderboard; I like looking at the friends one, though, and teasing as appropriate. That it turned into a competition with some of the devs is what made it really interesting!

 

And I'd agree about the "casual" statement. I know it gets a lot of look-down-the-noses sort of responses, but I saw everyone hardcore in here burn out so quickly. Meanwhile, yeah, I've nursed my time along, but I'm still having fun with it. I'd actually say that now I've had time to acquire some better weapons and understand all the different kits and abilities better, I'm actually having a LOT more fun with it right now than I did when I was flailing around in the beginning.

I'm usually a guy that can stomach a long grind, but I think RNGeesus was with me on this game so I maxed out my equipment for all characters quite early - and then there was nothing else to look for than grinding promotions or banners etc. I did that for a while, but every new game I played a little piece of me died. I knew all the maps blindfolded and the positions of all mobs down to a tee. I kept myself going for a while thinking I wanted to grind out tons of gold for an eventual pack opening as a new expansion would come along with potentially new and better equipment. But I think it will snow in hell before we see one. And especially not one that will fulfill the potential of this game. I mean, will there be dragons? I'm pretty sure the chances for that are zilch.

Yes, he PUGs PS4 a lot.

 

Harder to spot these guys unless you know their PSN IDs, though. No "BioWare employee" special banner like they had in ME3MP.
