This is going to be my complete play through of the game and I need to know which class makes more sense for an elf at the conclave, I like the idea of being an assassin rogue DW , whereas if I pick mage knight enchanter it makes sense story wise

now I've done knight enchanter before  but only for half a play through and I found it incredibly boring

the only thing putting me off rogue is the dialogue which elven mages get

I even considered warrior because I can get dalish warrior schematics early on whereas I have to wait to get the scout armor till hissing wastes and robe for mages off a level 23 dragon, the problem with the warrior is that the elf arms are horrible and I cant imagine him wielding a greatsword, sword and board would bore me to death so I rule that out also.

dilemma, help me choose please?

When I think of elves, I think archers and mages. Know it probably will not help, but elf's ranged defense really helps against archers.

I tend to aswell but I don't mind breaking from the norm and making him unique, im not to sure on archery, I hate sitting back but regarding rogues it wont matter because I can alternate with tactical renewal amulet, if I need to try one or the other

and a 2 handed elf sounds cool as hell, especially a champion but the model puts me off but I get dalish warrior armor early by grinding

I recommend a Rift Mage. That spec fits in perfectly, duh, the inquisitor, and plus, elven Mage is logical and apparently comes with dialogue. So yeah.

And trust me, Rift Mage is perfectly balanced and is wonderful at crowd control, so combine it with Storm. Throw in a couple perks from the Inferno tree and perhaps the fire mine. You're all set.

If sitting back isn't for you, I would recommend the Artificer archer since you can fight at any range you like and still be effective.

If you'd prefer to mix it up at close quarters but want to be a little less squishy, then try Tempest.
You get more out of Flask of Frost as a melee fighter than an archer and you can eschew Stealth entirely if you so choose.

Assassin is probably my favourite though since you get more killing power than the Maker himself without needing a focus ability.

I wanted to try something a little different, so I went with female Elf 2H warrior.  I am finding it to be a lot of fun.  Something cool about an Elf with a huge weapon!

I did that too! It looks a bit outrageous because her weapons are almost as big as she is.

I'm a Knight Enchanter mage, mainly because it has elven origin.

decided on warrior due to it not being used by many people, i should get over the arm issues, not to mention i like the idea of wielding the sulevin blade with scout armor, and being a champion, may not make sense for the dalish hunter but i could see the keeper sending her best warrior to investigate rather then a random hunter or her first, i mean why would she send her first when mages are rare among the dalish, and being a champion further adds to realism i suppose

Elf warriors make little to no sense in this game. Since when do tall thin sticks can don heavy armor, use heavy shields or better yet, use a big two handed weapon and be able to break the ground by smashing it ?

Now between Elf Rogue or Elf Mage. Personally I would go with Elf Rogue since it makes a lot more sense story wise. Recall that Lavellan is sent to the Conclave as a spy by the Keeper of the clan to monitor and observe the situation. Now what class is the most adept at sneaking around and being spy-like ? The Rogue.

For me, if you want to play as a mage, be a Human. Human Mage is from the Circle of Magi, was involved in the Mage-Templar War and has, I think the most reasons to be at the Conclave.

You can be a spy hiding in plain sight, too. Called blending in. I like to imagine that my Lavellan used the "I'm not an apostate" card to get in. While I do agree on a general level, it does not take much to explain a mage Lavellan.

Or sent as a spy disguised as a "diplomat" from the Dalish.

I like to stand out, elven warriors are rare but they are there and the keeper would send the best imo, a champion warrior is not to be frowned at, human or elven, remember the champion in witch hunt, they are there, It also said on the card that you were the protector of the clan too, imo that hints towards champion, its actually not that hard to roleplay, I can understand a rogue too, not the keepers first being sent though, seems too random

While I do agree to an extent (it makes no sense for the keeper to send her first to a conclave) if you sit and think about it, you could probably come up with a reason.

I myself find it hard to pick a specialization that fits the rogue inquisitor as leader of the organization for any race.

same so that's why I went warrior champion elf, Its the only way to make warrior enjoyable, not to mention extra dialogue for elves

I still cant think of a reason for a mage elf, not only that he/she would know more then one or two spells, as I said its good for extra dialogue but I just cant understand it, I imagine temple of mythal breaks the immersion too, a first would know who mythal was and I wouldn't need to ask because they study the lore, warrior and rogue can slightly get away with it

I am playing an archer rogue Lavellan, and it feels correct, now I just need to choose the right specialization (maybe assassin given the personality I have for her).
