Devs mentioned wanting to keep things ambiguous and I'm all for that approach. It's a much more interesting story when your character is never quite sure they're doing the correct action.
Should there be confirmation of a Maker in the next game?

I think revealing a Maker would kill a great deal of the mystery if not the motivations for a lot of things in this world they have created.
If you must do it BioWare do it when you know this series is dead after the game you make the reveal in.

Ambiguity is better.
People would just complain about being able to/not being able to kill the Maker.
The anti-Chantry folks would rant about how Dragon Age has been ruined forever.

I don't think it is relevant to the storyline, unless writers want the world to descend into chaos. The current trend in DAI is to bolster the belief that the Maker is a false God or Demi-urge much in the same way that Agnosticism opines that we all carry the divine spark. It suits Elven mythos (what remains of it in Dalish lore) to encourage that belief. The difference between the belief in the Maker, and Dalish "Gods", is about demonstrable evidence appearing witin the game. You can't talk about the maker without putting His presence into context within the world
