The following armor has been deemed as offensive to men due to the appearnace of a man's chest and ab muscles, most likely due to males having chest & ab muscles beneathe.

I think it looks immersive though and captures the imagination.

The same goes for female armor. I like the cosmetic outline that captures how women look underneath the armor.

CONCLUSION

Include both realistic & fantasy breast/muscle/chest/abs plate armor for men & women in Dragon Age 4, thank you. That way people can CHOOSE, it's called CHOICE

I agree with you, VickVeel. Maybe not for the same reasons, but I find these kinds of armors very aesthetically pleasing and would like the style to at least be an option in the games.

I find them aesthetically pleasing as well. I like both styles actually and don't see why both couldn't of been in game.  As a man, I don't find armor that outlines a man's chest and ab muscles as offensive.

Because one good hit would cave in the breastplate and kill the wearer. I doubt we'll see it in the DA universe since Iron Bull called out the ridiculousness in one of his banters with Cassandra

I honestly don't care either way, personally, but chances don't look good

I think the writers said it all, and I doubt they are going to change their minds:

Iron Bull: Rah... that's some good armor.
Cassandra: Are you referring to me?
Iron Bull: Some high-ranking women wore ornamental crap with t*ts hammered into it.  One good shot, and all that cleavage gets knocked right into the sternum. Real messy. Good on you for going practical.
Cassandra: I aim to please.
Iron Bull: Leave something to the imagination too.

They took them out for the same reason they removed desire demons, because they believed it would be offensive.  In fact their is too much politcal correctness and pandering to minorites in this game as a whole.

I believe in equality and fairness but if people are so easily offended I think the problem might be with them.  That is my two cents, and that goes for the whole world to be honest.  Too much cesnorship because of too many people being too easily offended.  As I said I believe in equality so I would be offended if someone said something deragotory about women or black people.  But this is too much, it is getting out of hand.

This. It's a poor design when it comes to battle. Having a space between the breasts would divert blows directly towards the center of the breastbone, resulting in immediate death. Even a fall while wearing an armor with a design like that could possibly shatter the breastbone. So again, your stupid idea is STUPID!!

See, I'd be down for having mages have the the option of dressing like Vivienne, for example (classy and showing some skin), but breasted plate armor? I'd be distracted by the weirdness of it. But hey, to each their own.

...Seriously?  You mean after his last thread was locked?  His dedication knows no bounds.

<looks over at the BW absence thread>  And folks wonder why the devs and writers are leery to come here.  For as many reasonable and decent fans that just want to politely express their views, we get a few "gentlemen" such as the OP.  A few of those is all it takes to run the writers and devs off, with damned good reason.

Misogyny misogyny misogyny.Man hating man hating man hating.Everything is offensive: so you cant have anything that anyone can deem offensive.Even the God damned Desire Demons were removed because they were afraid of being labeled offensive.Though given the premise of the game I suppose conservative religious people could find the whole game offensive and consign the developers and all of us rpg loving players to the nether regions of hell.Or maybe the fade for that matter.Maybe that's where they sent the Desire Demons. If so sign me up!

...Out of curiosity, have anyone actually confirmed why desire demons were taken out? Or are we all just taking arms up over it, over possibilities?

There's absolutely no way Bioware could ever create an interesting game that was offensive to no one. But I don't think it's wrong of them to at least keep in mind whether or not the things they include might be offensive to large demographics. It's a tricky balancing act, and one I hope to see them hone in the future.

Can we just sit back and appreciate the irony of OP and his ilk complaining about bewbs and naked women not being in the game (and yet there are bewbs in the game) due to such content being "too offensive" and yet they complain about gay content in the game and how there should be a toggle for it. Why? Because... wait for it..... it is offensive.  To *them*.

A quick google search only showed me speculations on various forums, but I didn't see anything that was immediately conclusive.

Like sure, Bioware could have taken them for reasons regarding potentially offended clients.

Or maybe they're getting super  revamped and will return in DA4 bigger and badder than ever. Who knows.

Yes perhaps it would be design of the breast plates if they deflected the attacks toward the center of the chest in real life.  But this is not real life, I do not think that the swords that hit the chest would turn into a critical hit automatically.

No for a computer game to remove that there would probably be a different agenda entirely.  My guess is it was a political one, so that would not offend them by having "overly sexed women" on the screen by showing them in such armor.  The same agenda led to removing the desire demons as well as the more steamy sex scenes like we saw in DAO or ME1.  All to remove sex from the game to avoid hate mail.
