I just took the time and re-read the last two pages. I may have been a tad tough on KaiserShep, apologies for that -- you indeed didn't call her slutty, and correctly paraphrased the NPC who did. I'm glad we both agree that this is indeed an uncalled-for low blow (in-character for Jack though... wasn't it her who said it?).

The main point still stands, though. KBomb phrased it better than I did.

No problem. I need to work on my aggro when commenting so I apologize for being a bit testy.

In any case, the character I'm talking about is Captain Enyala, who says that Miranda is "whoring around in that outfit". As far as I can tell, Jack never comments on it.

Jack commenting on Miranda's outfit would have been as ridiculous as Iron Bull complimenting Cassandra on her practical battle attire.

Heh.

Speaking of Iron Bull, it's kind of ironic that to use armor that actually covers his entire torso, you may have to sacrifice stats to do so. As far as I can tell, the best armors to equip him with in the game are all the bare-chest stuff, particularly the battlemaster armor you unlock when you get the warrior mat perk.

Everyone is different.... Everyone has different tastes.

Sorry but............ no... everyone doesn't have different tastes, I don't know why it was ever promoted that beauty is this kind of 'subjective' thing.. some stuff looks good.. other stuff.. not so much.

I'm pretty sure that's one kind of secondary issue here.. the hope that we can get some armor that everyone at least likes how it looks.

Beauty is a subjective thing though. Case in point: In the Lobby someone created a Celebrity Waifu thread where everyone is posting pictures of celebrities that they find attractive. I guarantee that if you were to browse through that thread, you'll find at least a couple that aren't your cup of tea.

Or pick the person you find most attractive, check out their IMDB page, and scroll through the threads where people discuss how overrated their looks are, or flat out slam them for being ugly.

Well I woudn't disagree with Gamer072196 so much to say that there was indeed *nobody* who likes someone/something whatever their looks/character/whatever. There are some weird tastes around :P

But we also need to realise that just like we can't be all Einsteins/Curies, or Shakespeares/Austens, we can't all be Jackmans/Beckinsales either. So no, not everybody is *beautiful*/handsome in the narrow sense of the word. Attractiveness, thankfully, is composed of more than just beauty, e.g. character, so in the grand scheme of things it doesn't even matter all that much if we're not that visually attractive. Just be honest with yourself.

(Edit/PS: I think I just won the thread on the number of expertly used slashes/parantheses.)

I imagine many would. She's the only one other than the sibling who was with you from the very beginning, and I love when she gets forceful with the "toad" in the gallows in the prologue if you do Athenril's collection quest.

I have been trying to police myself by not supporting sassy one liner remarks to a persons rant or qq post (like mine earlier) but you.. Youuuu.... YOu got me.. hah.. Ohhh..

Then again, I still support the original post about options. I don't support the possible troll at this point? (IN REFERENCE TO VICK's recent post not your quote here sorry for any misunderstanding)

I've always found myself more drawn to the hard willed warriors like Aveline. I know Cassandra is tough and very hard when she needs to be but I was very disappointed by her romance arch because I experienced Isabelle's first. They were so similar. But I respect Cassandra as a character, still. I was hoping she'd be a little well, more like aveline.

Ok so first of all I was just thinking about armor types and outfits.. I personally don't want to get into physical attractiveness, barely wanted to go into the subject at all to be honest. I only quoted the point about subjectivity.

I'm just saying more people would probably find Cassandra cuter if she had more stylish/body emphasis armor.. it's not really that complicated. I'm not really saying anything about anything or the merits of people generally, I'm just saying what kind of armor/styling/look people like isn't random or subjective.

With Cassandra I don't think the complaints are linked much to the armor she is wearing. I think it's just that she has short hair and sharp features, both of which give her a slightly androgynous vibe. If people are into more a more feminine appearance, they are never going to be into the character no matter she's wearing.

Having said that...I also think the histrionics over her appearance are somewhat amusing. If a companion character isn't attractive...so what? When did it become a requirement that all potential LIs must look like fashion models? The romance aspects are just there for character development in any case, and aren't even the main focus of the game. I'm not quite sure why some people make a big deal out of it. Some of the posts or threads on Cassandra's appearance make it seem as if it ruined the entire game for them. I find that baffling, considering her total romance content probably doesn't even add up to two hours of game time.

Bioware has a problem with restrictions, they would sell more games if people had options, in a single player game you should be able to dress your characters any way you want to, and all options should be available, sexy armor pack, full armor pack and so on, you don't want sexy armor then don't buy it, you have any idea how many half naked wardens, Morrigans and Hawks there are running around the internet, there is a market for it

Well I think she would be slightly cuter with the long hair from Dawn of the Seeker personally... but honestly I've seen short hair be really appealing depending on the person so I don't think it has to do with the armor, or the hair, or anything in particular outside of her just being a somewhat icy person. All the DA characters are relatively frosty, with Bastila Shan or Jaheira they were relatively frigid at times but I think players sensed more warmth from them generally. Even Morrigan could be quite homely. Aribeth also.

I think that ultimately manifests itself in this "she's too mannish!" kind of thing.

But this topic was just about outfits and consequently I was merely commenting on them, and the mere fact that I'm often not surprised when people seem to congregate on things they like or dislike, and my belief that such things are not subjective but actually fairly predictable.

Ugh... the Cassie topic again... dunno. Her personality is such a big turn-off for me that I probably have a skewed perception of her looks, especially because I really liked her (albeit short) presence in DA2. It's probably the inverse effect of when you fall in love with somebody, s/he will suddenly be the most beautiful/handsome being in the world (at least for a short while :) ). In brief, I find her neither pretty nor attractive; I doubt armor would have been able to make a big difference for me.

(Personally, I wasn't smitten with any of the other characters either, except with Vivienne (who is not a LI), with Cullen (who was an awesome romance IMO) and with Dorian (loved his character). My straight Femquisitor was happy, as was my gay Malquisitor, but my lesbian Femquisitor (who is usually my main character) and my straight Malquisitor weren't. Of course that's subjective, and I don't think anybody wants that "all potential LIs must look like fashion models"... but one or two wouldn't go amiss. IMO. Which of course invites a discussion of what is considered pretty, though I think looking into said fashion mags would give a handful of first ideas.)

For more ideas regarding Cassie, may I recommend the other Vicky thread? :P
