it wasn't just the make up, it was also the informal skirt, the boob job, in addition to the make up, and I'd say that my favorite female space armor comes in the form of Mjolnir variants from Halo

Honestly I didn't even see it as a skirt until it was pointed out. It looks just as much like a long shirt than a skirt to me, and is pretty inoffensive.

And everyone got a boob job in from ME2 onwards; ME1's female model in general had small boobs. Wasn't an Ashley-specific thing.

doesn't make it any better

I agree completely, but I have to chuckle a bit any when folks single Ashley out for being given an extreme makeover.  They did that pretty equally.

I don't find the idea of a skirt offensive, I find Ashley in one annoying, it sjust not her

again, that doesn't make it better, a character's likeability shouldn't boil down to cup size, I only point Ashley out because she was specifically mentioned as having been given greater sex appeal

Sure, but as I said I didn't even notice it enough to be annoyed on her behalf. It's not like it affected her personality.

That's where I was coming from for awhile there.  I wouldn't want a character like Cassandra to dress into a more revealing or "sexy" outfit.  It just wouldn't suit her.  Or Aveline.

However, since the PC is a special person anyways, I'm fine with a schematic or two for heavy armor if the player want to look closer to Isabela instead of Cass.  I have enough faith in the DA team to believe that they could make room for the more 'Bela inspired armors for the frontline female fighters alongside my preferred styles of Cass and Aveline.  I don't think they would take the more revealing armor and set it as the only option.  That's silly and completely contradictory to what the DA team has been trying to do over the years.

My favorite armor set in this game is Leliana's chain and tunic armor.  I'm jealous.   :P

she had one in 3?

Joking aside, its just not consistent with how she carried herself in ME1

Would've been better if ME3 Ash had a ponytail and a regular casual uniform :(

Agreed.  However, it can't be changed now and it looks like at least the DA team isn't trying to do that.  So far so good, and I just hope that the current ME team doesn't do unnecessary things like that.

Out of everything in Mass Effect, the only one that bothers me is Samara. They even bothered to model the zipper on the front of her suit that she isn't using.

The one who seemed to change the most to me was Liara. Her facial features became much more unique and striking.

It has to be Ash for me.  Liara looked much better, but it was still in line with her character and previous features (minus her mom's bust.)  Ash though struck me as so no-nonsense and such a consummate solider that I actually let out a small laugh when I saw her ME3 appearance.

The the style chosen for the Asari Matriarchs was always worth of a giggle or two.  I love the art in most of the series, yet that was humorous because it was so over the top.

Now that I have that image in mind

where do people draw the line?  I usually only take issue with catsuits and boob plates when they start really breaking immersion.  Like Samara going on a space walk with enough cleavage to stop a Reaper or when its just really ridiculous like say, steel plate armor in Skyrim (which is actually one of my favorite looking armors in Skyrim on men)

Spoiler

On women, I just don't really think it's all that pretty, and if I were inclined to go with very feminine shaped armor, I would do it because I enjoy the aesthetics enough to prioritize it.

I actually do usually put my female PCs in the most feminine armor that I can find, and sometimes I'm even a little envious of the other character's sometimes more feminine wardrobes. Bethany had my favorite unique outfit design in DA history, and a romanced Isabela had a corset that I would have stolen if I could have.

I love corsets.

But part of that was what I saw as subtlety and prettiness, bringing back around to some of the examples I've seen in this thread. Sometimes, a shapely breastplate is more elegant and attractive (imo) than "THESE ARE MY BOOB CUPS."

They should've gave a redux version of the Phoenix Armor instead of those crappy alt outfits they gave her  <_<

Heavy.   :D

Me too.  I wish they had taken the PA style and gave it those pretty Alliance colors.  Thanks to mods and such, I've got nice stats on the PA armor that's in ME3.

I liked the color scheme too, If I had to choose her alt armors I would've chose this over the reskin of Liara's Alt

And a redux of the PA style armor with Alliance colors and another with the classic colors

I own ME3 on PC but never played it. I'll have to look up some armor/skin mods.

Cerberus colors > Alliance

that said, I hate how the armor sets in ME3 can't be colored, I like their colors, but I shouldn't be wearing them anymore

I just need E3 to get here. If a Remaster isn't announced then, it's time for a trilogy playthrough again. Which would be perfect since I'm lending my sister my PS4 to play DA: I at the end of May. :P

That's the one thing I modded in ME3. It felt weird to sport Cerberus colors given the plot. Had to be N7 or Alliance.

Why can't one group have something and the other just ignore it completely? if this side wants this type of armor, let em! Its not like you''ll be forced to wear it.
