Okay exactly how are we supposed to look at your message? That argument is usually meant as a way to describe why it's WRONG to add something in. You said you do not want that kind of armor because it does not fit into the universe. How is that exactly not lowering the quality or the immersion?

That I don't like it, it isn't for me and that I don't think it would fit.  That's it, that's all you need to read it as.  I don't think it would lower the quality.  I don't think it would (to use your words) "kill my immersion."   I think it would look out of place, but I wouldn't be on the forums demanding that the devs take it back out.   I would likely go, "Well, that's a silly looking thing," and not dwell on it for my entire game experience.  That doesn't "kill immersion."

You know what kills immersion for me?  Bugs in gameplay.  Getting stuck on the geometry.  Disappearing NPCs.  Sudden crashes to desktop.  My character's neck clipping through the back of her armor.

I would prefer not to have boob armor return, but I wouldn't be crying if the devs did decide to take that route.  Since this is the Feedback section, which isn't just for BW employees, I'm allowed to post my opinion about this person's ideas.  So why don't you stop trying to read stuff into my posts there isn't there, please.

I didn't make a post about it however. The OP did. I saw how many people came in to derail the thread, and you were one of the more serious "Nay sayers" so I chose to address your opinion.

Generally, those two are the most used excuses as to why something should not be in the game. I'm so sorry that I managed to irk you with an assumption. Not really honestly. I will post as I please too, feel free to claim otherwise when I do.

Maybe it's a sign of my dementia setting in, but I can't actually recall any of this type of armour actually ever being in DA:O or DA2.
The leather armour used to have some form fitting aspects, which totally makes sense, but heavy armour?

Anybody help set me straight here?

Well, I wasn't here to derail, only post an opposing opinion, so I guess that helps.   I wasn't asking for an apology, I was asking that you not put comments into my post that I never said.  I believe in addressing what someone actually said, and not what I think they meant in a tone of voice I can't hear.  Oftentimes, I will ask the person what they meant if I possibly misunderstand their tone.  I think that losing tone over text leads to a lot of internet squabbles and misunderstandings.

For instance, I could assume that you hate all BioWare fans judging from your signature of saying that "Apologists" are ignored.  I could assume that you feel that anyone that has anything nice to say about the company is an arse kissing BioWare clone.  Would that be accurate, or would that be reading way more into your sig than intended?   I would like to think that assuming such would be uncalled for and that I would be wrong if I did assume such a thing.  I don't think you're like that at all, for the record.

Something my dad taught me growing up: "Assuming something makes an ass out of you and me."

I never saw the statement by Iron Bull to affirm the "practical" viewpoint was correct or that they (the writers) agreed with it. I took it as a lighthearted nod toward the community. When I first heard Bull make that statement, I admit I wondered how long it would take before people started using it as "proof".

Being here as long as I have and observing the various arguments through years and games, I have concluded that people (not all, but some) pick and choose what is "practical" and "realistic" based on what they like or dislike. Some may excuse the features and armors that are just as impractical because they like them, while calling out the things they don't like.

I won't use any names, but I remember seeing a couple of forumites in other threads calling out armors as being "impractical", yet see them post some of their Wardens, Hawkes or Inquisitors in show off threads wearing modded armors or hairstyles that are more impractical than any vanilla armor or hair in the game. The BSN sure is a funny 'ole place sometimes.

Some of the armor mods are, er, quite indulgent, but I guess that's mods for you...

I find this to be true more often than not. "Boob plate is impractical and would get you painfully killed in battle!" So would not wearing a helmet, but people like to see the faces of their characters and companions, so impracticality becomes acceptable in this instance.

Honest question: Do boob plate armors really look better to people? I was trying to find some good-looking "boob plate" armor designs and couldn't come up with much. This is the only one I can find that looks decent.

Hypocrisy at it's best. It's stupid as long as I don't like it. Why we have option to turn helmets off and on. Armour should be realistic.

For every serious discussion that there is on this here BSN forum, there are the usual trolls for and against Bioware. Ask anyone and they will tell you when even if I agree to an extent on certain subject matters, like desire demons, and Cassandra's romance being very similar to our other LI for straight males, if it's in a poor format I will not support it.

The OP I've on many occasions disagreed with and stated why. But you deal with SO MANY apologistic people that will swear EAware is in the right and will defend them by derailing said discussions. This discussion caught my attention because it also had MALE chest armor as 'breastplates'. I want that gladiator chestpiece. Not necessarily as the inquisitor, maybe for some of my other characters. I know it wouldn't really fit IB to have one of those but still, options. I also felt that there were quite a bit of naysaying trolls that came to oppose the OP because of his prior content. I dislike that.

But the first posts to get moderated are not the ones that attack a critic of DAI or Bioware in general, no, they get what they want. They get a locked discussion. It's the people who criticize Bioware or a defender of Bioware and its practices. I've seen it before where people get temporary bans when their posts at best deserve a lock or a hidden option. Sometimes those bans are permanent. Where are the bans for the extremely offensive apologists?

I would hope that the people here at least attack the argument, instead of the OP from now on.

This thread would not exist if we were able to mod this game.
Just sayin.

I think, as in many aspects of life, it remains true that 'variety is the spice of life'. Why not have a few different styles of armour for the pic and companions? If you don't like them, don't craft or wear them
But here's a good article debating the style of armour women wore in medieval Europe:
http://io9.com/what-...wear-1502779338

Also, Google Joan of Arc's armour - (http://www.maidofhea...ofarc_armor.asp) - yip, pretty practical actually.

Leather armour though would be a bit more form fitting, as Sera's armour shows.

Depends on design. There are many many good looking non-boob armours and there are bad ones.

In DA2, for example, this Hawke armor looks very meh

Merrill's armour is so much better looking

If characters not wearing helmets is because people want to see their characters faces and expressions, what purpose does boob plate armor serve?

But if you don't wear helmet you just get arrow to the face.

There is some reason why people want boob armors just like there is reason they don't want to use helmets. Helmets is for expressions and story-reasons, but what is the purpose for those who want more boob plates in the game?

Some people like how it looks, they find it aesthetically pleasing. It doesn't need to have a story/plot related purpose.

That's true, however I think that makes people not wearing helmets during cutscenes (they still have them during normal battles) completely reasonable, story-telling would suffer if you couldn't see any emotions on people's faces for example during attack of Haven. So I don't think boob plate = not wearing helmets are in same level, other is important for story and other is just aesthetics (or sexying up female characters).

Well, that's heavy warrior armor versus light mage armor. There's a lot more leeway with rogue and mage armors than warrior armors. It's fine for Sera to have a form-fitting leather armor or for Vivienne to wear a low-cut dress in battle because they aren't on the front lines taking hits. Good looking female warrior armor with metal cleavage, I feel, is harder to make without it looking dumb. The example in the OP, for instance, looks pretty ridiculous to me so I was wondering if there are better ones we can look to if they were ever to be implemented.

To better see the shapes of their character's body when walking around. Just for eye pleasure. Not everything must be Mariana trench deep.
