I got constant crashes as well. Was able to play through the origin story with a few crashes, but now it crashes randomly in 2-4 minutes after loading. First all the music and sound cuts off, but I'm able to control the character for a few seconds, then it freezes, and I can get back to desctop only with task manager. Tryed to turn vsync off, the computer should be more than able to handle the game, got about 4 gb virtual memory, and updated the video card with the latest patch. Anyone got any idea what goes wrong? Its quite bad to wait monts for the game and when I finally get it i still can't play it.

Not sure if related - but try disabling SLI. Or quicker, try turning off Vsync in the game options and see if that helps at all.

Also what resolution you running at - and running windowed or full screen?

disable SLI? holy crap this is 2009 shouldnt you support this tech?

I have Quad Core, EVGA GTS 8800, Windows XP and 3GB of ram.

Luckily the game has had no crashes yesterday and today thankfully. Hopefulyl Bioware is looking into this error nad hte other issues and does a patch.

I'm curious if the patch has resolved this issue for anyone. I eventually had to take out my GTX295 and run it on an 8600gt (shudder) to get it to stay stable, so far no crashes besides one typical nvidia bluescreen which has become the norm for most people these days it seems.

My game is crashing. But, mine is actually causing my computer to turn off. So, i don't even see an error message. I am running AMD dual core, Nvidia 7900 GTX, 2gb ram.

Just gone again, mid battle, straight to desktop. Event Viewer has same message again only. I've a well specced PC and this is the only game I own that regularly dumps on me like this. It's the only game I run through Steam though too so whether running on steam is an issue I don't know. Bloody irritating how often it is happening nevertheless.

Im getting crashes as well. I have played the game for 5 days now first 3 days ive played not 1 crash. Past 2 days I have had a total of 3 crashes. First crash was multi colered polygons all over the screen had to do hard reset of the pc.Second crash the game just froze up, no error just croze had to do a hard reset of the pc. Last crash was a few minutes ago got the dragon age has encountered a problem and needs to close and allowed to be close down to the desktop, this crash happened while getting shale, i was in the basement working the puzzle. I love the game but this is getting really annoying to say the least :( I really do hope they patch this, so I can continue playing. I know its not my system causing it, I have played other games with no problems. I know crysis is harder on my system than DAO.

My rig:
Intel core 2 duo  E8200 oc@ 3.2ghz
EVGA GTS 250 superclocked no OC
OCZ Reaper hpc ddr2 1066 2 gb dual channel
Win xp pro x32

Also having frequent crashes every 5-10 minutes of play. This needs fixing. I'm tired of seeing posts about people not knowing how DLC works etc. when game ruining issues like this go COMPLETELY IGNORED!

One I just remembered, with me, before the crash the sound sometimes starts stuttering, like a skipping record. Then the whole thing closes down abruptly. I've once had to then do a hard reset of the PC to get going again.

(edit)
My spec is:
MSI 790FX-GD70 (current bios)
AMD Phenom X3 720 (no OC currently)
4GB OCZ DDR3
ATI HD 4890 (current driver)
XP SP3

There's two sound cards - I use the Creative X-Fi Fatality card in gaming (the other one is for recording music).

Nearly same thing here. I will play for a while without crashing, then bam, crashes for no reason, so I restart and click "resume" and it crashes almost immediately after showing the loading screen for like a second. Sometimes I can load an older save or something, but it is really irritating. I am running on xp 64 bit with intel i7 processor, 6gb of ram, 1 tb hard drive, and a geforce gtx 260 vid card.
