Lucky for me huh?

The army had a pretty good idea of who needed them.

I disregard nothing. I argue that Solas is wrong. In all three games of the Dragon Age series we have had Spirits as Companions or Companions with close relations to Spirits. In not one of those three, including the one in which Solas and his ideas are introduced, do the Spirits or Companions affected by Spirits behave as Solas asserts they do. Solas is not the only authority on Spirits we encounter in the games. Why are you disregarding the lore, statements of other characters and the Spirit Companions themselves in favor of Solas?

The relationship between Anders and Justice is significantly different than the one between Uldred and his Demon and the various other forced possessions of Mages that we have come to know as Abominations. Even at their worst, which is only one possible outcome, they are very different. I believe this significant distinction warrants a new designation as it is vastly different in both nature and purpose.

That is your opinion/perspective and Justice disagrees. You are holding Justice to your personal standards of right and wrong. Remember that Justice is a Spirit, it is from a completely different world and sees things entirely different than you or the humans and elves in Thedas. To Justice, killing hundreds of people in order to uphold what is just is no different than killing Darkspawn. Again, what was Justice doing the first time we met it? Threatening violence if justice was not upheld. There is no corruption. Same o'l Justice.

I assume that Solas is more likely to be correct because he holds the most knowledge of the Fade and its inhabitants. Though we have had knowledgeable Mages on the party in the past, Solas is an expert on the Fade and gives more information on it than any character prior. It is completely logical to assume that the one who holds the greatest amount of knowledge on a subject is the most likely to be correct. It seems like you are ignoring the information Solas gives not because others have said otherwise, because he knows more about the Fade than those individuals do, but instead because you simply don't like it.

There is no other designation given in-game. I am not going to use some term made up by you to describe what this Anders/Vengence combo is. I am going to use the in-universe term which can most closely be applied, which is abomination.

Also, he is altered by Vengeance in both routes. Either Vengeance sporadically takes control, or Anders' personality is realigned to one fueled by Vengeance.

Lastly no. Just no. I am not simply applying my opinion, I am applying what is logical. When we first meet Justice, he is threatening violence against the countess, who has trapped the villagers in the Fade, with violence if justice is not upheld. He only threatens those who directly deal injustice. Nothing in his character displays that he would commit an act of mass murder, killing people who played little to no part in the oppression of mages. And how does any of this justify killing that mage girl? Come on, you keep ignoring that every time I bring it up.

And the fact that not everyone agrees on the criteria set by your army (that can pick its own targets independent of civilian leadership?) is one of the many things that makes things complicated.

It isn't complicated until people who know less then a thimble of anything dictate they know better.

Agreeing with the those sorts isn't a concern and shouldn't be.

They can argue philosophy with the corpses when it's done.

And who sets this criteria of who knows and doesn't?

Of what they think to judge the merits of.

In this case.

War.

So people with experience in war are the only ones allowed to judge war?

I am not sure how reliable this rumor is (that Anders is gone from Dragon Age forever).  If it's true, I'm not at all suprised.  Whether the writers admit this or not, they rather severely rewrote Ander's character from the likable if somewhat iconoclastic goof in DAA to the angsty, hard-eyed terrorist in DA2.  Setting that issue aside, my point in this thread is that IMHO his character has become so poisoned and so contentious that the writers really can't use Anders again (even if you let him live which I never do).

You do kind of see the transformation though as the acts progress. To be honest I was kind of glad he changed, not even Anders can remain goofy forever. He is kind of poisoned for the fan base though, I would like him back but I can see why others wouldn't.

Not really, I seek to understand you, that's why I've been asking you questions. Sometimes I challenge you but that's because I have opinions, I'm not your therapist.

Doesn't Justice, throughout Awakenings taunt Anders about his inaction on freeing mages?  I'm just really confused about how it's possible to leave Justice totally out of the blame for what happened in DA2.

I'm just a touch tipsy is all. Carry on being done with it, I'm not even sure what the spat is about.

On-topic, though: he'd better not be.
