Nah, killing him outright is letting him off easy.
It's justice for his victims.
He doesn't even deserve a marker for his grave site, some unnamed plot.
That thing deserves to be forgotten, to be ignored.

Ew, I wouldn't have liked that. I would have at least liked him to go out in a blaze of glory fighting in the Hinterlands than become a washed up shadow of his former self. I was hoping he'd be leading the rebel mages and we'd be able to either side with him in Inquisition or fight him on the field.
Well, considering he blew up a Chantry, I'd think that most mages wouldn't want anything to do with him. Not to mention that it was because of his actions that the Templars tightened the restrictions in the Circles.
There's a lot of blame on his shoulders. It wouldn't be surprising if he decided to live apart from society to avoid it all. Hell, he could've just decided to be a hermit so that if he lost himself to Justice, he wouldn't hurt anyone that just happened to be the way.
Either way, I think we're better off not having Anders in DA:I.

Yeah, pretty everyone besides a love interest Hawke hates his guts. Even Varric doesn't give a toss about him anymore.

I meant that giving him a quick, painless death was letting him off easy.
The only character who shouldn't make a comeback is King Harrowmont, because the voice actor who played him passed away some time ago. Other than that, it's very short-sighted to discard a character like Anders. I don't mind encountering his spirit in the Fade, hopefully giving Hawke or the Grey Warden a chance to speak their minds.

I personally would wish that we could drag him back to Kirkwall and have the family members of his victims rip him limb from limb.
That sounds fair and just, right?

Or let Seb and Fenris have at him ![]()
I don't think death could ever be considered justice.
tbf, it doesn't really matter since the 'sanctity of life' is BS anyway. But then, people always have differing opinions, so whatever.
Or let Seb and Fenris have at him
Naw. Fenris has no patience. He would just rip his heart out and there would no real suffering.

True. Hmm.... maybe Vivienne and Sera instead?
You know you wrote an interesting character when some people are coming up with various ways and scenarios to harm him/her as badly as possible, while some others are doing in a very opposite way (like me). This actually makes me want to see Anders back just to see reactions from both his fans and people who hate him. What a dividing character he is.

It's more that I've grown to hate how he constantly whines and moans about mages and Templars while bashing on Merrill who actually knows more about what she's doing with the eluvian than Anders ever knew about what he was doing with Justice (damn hypocrite.....). His joining with Justice just completely destroyed him for me in the long run.
Awakening Anders was so much better. ![]()

What else are you going to do? He killed hundreds of people that were hardly even related to his target. Prison isn't going to phase him, especially not with Justice up in there. I'm not even sure how much "Anders" is left at the end of DA2. Killing him seems like a mercy at this point. At least it frees whatever is left from Justice/Vengeance's control.
Honestly, I think it's more that he was trying to make a statement. He definitely went the wrong way about it, but I don't think he was specifically targeting Elthina (assuming that's who you meant by 'his target').
What would be the point anyway? Meredith was the focus of his ire within Kirkwall, and if he was trying to target a high-ranking member of the Chantry, he could've went after the Divine (which I honestly wouldn't put past him).
Trial, imprisonment, all that does is give it more attention.
Never said anything about a trial or imprisonment.
What I was implying was that if he's going to die for blowing up the Chantry, then it should be a long, painful death as opposed to a quick, painless one.
Your kidding right?
I think Lumix meant in general, not just specifically for Anders.

I hope so..... Considering I killed him. Mwahaha!
I hope so..and I'd rather want a dead character stay dead, but I thought BioWare is going to have Justice possess Anders's corpse in case you kill him, it'll be like Kristoff 2.0.
So it can become a case about extremism and a overreaching authority on magical issues?
A bit late for that, don't you think?
