It's a little early for the weekend challenge thread, but the mission is already teased, so hey, let's talk about it  .

Spoils of War objectives

 

Personal:

• Be in a party that opens 25 chests

Community: 

• PS4: Loot 240 million Gold
• PC/Xbox One: Loot 100 million Gold
• PS3/Xbox 360: Loot 35 million Gold

For those interested in the community challenge, here are the target times for quantities of gold collected against each star:

• 1 star: PS4: 48 million XB1/PC: 20 million, PS3/360: 7 million FRI @8pmPDT, 11pmEDT, SAT @4amBST, 5amCEST
• 2 stars: PS4: 96 million XB1/PC: 40 million, PS3/360: 14 million SAT @6amPDT, 9amEDT, 2pmBST, 3pmCEST
• 3 stars: PS4: 144 million XB1/PC: 60 million, PS3/360: 21 million SAT @4pmPDT, 7pmEDT, SUN @midnightBST, 1amCEST
• 4 stars: PS4: 192 million XB1/PC: 80 million, PS3/360: 28 million SUN @2amPDT, 5amEDT, 10amBST, 11amCEST
• complete: PS4: 240 million XB1/PC: 100 million, PS3/360: 35 million SUN @noonPDT, 3pmEDT, 8pmBST, 9pmCEST

I don't think it's released this Friday.. but maybe the upcoming week.  The challenge is a preparation for what's to come.

As I recall PS and XB stores update on tuesday, so consoles can't get DLC until then. In fairness to them, PC has to wait as well. Thus, all DLC releases (that aren't actually already on the store, but only open on the assigned day- I'm looking at you CoD) come on tuesdays.

Employing a little CSI:BSN...

 

The Destruction DLC dropped on a Tuesday (Dec 16) at 10.00am PST for XB/PC, with PS dropping later in the day.

It was introduced with a Tuesday Twitch stream.

It was interesting to see (and hear off screen) Billy, along with Luke, Blair, Nolan and Laila doing their thing  .

 

If there is new stuff, I would image it could be shown off on Friday on their closed system ahead of a Tuesday drop.

I know the usual day for new games to release and so logically for the stores to update are on Tuesdays, it is an industry scheduling thing. However, as this is a free addition to a multiplayer mode and not paid DLC, I hope it releases on Friday. That way if they tweak the drop rates for the chests for the weekend challenge, we will best be able to acquire new characters/gear with these chests.

You are probably right though, just seems a shame to potentially give us an improved chance at better outcomes/focus on opening chests, then a short time after that is over, release new content.

Also, I just want new content ASAP.

The treasure room challenge must have been before I started playing;  was it just opening as many treasure rooms as you can?  Anybody remember the details?

I hope so, in the last two months Weekend Challenge aren't challenging at all. Alas! I even had to flip the screen upside down to make it a little difficult.

 

Many players ( dare to say most of them) play during weekends for the challenge, during that time we can find lobbies everywhere and many people to play with, but then when a weekend challenge its easily done, these people stop playing, and then we become again hungry for lobbies.

 

So please, no  more 5 games challenges.

Bioware has designed a system that makes me expect to be dissapointed well before the real dissapointment is revealed. 

 

So wake me up if anything exciting happens, like if they fix the game or something else significant.

 

Until then, I ain't boarding no hype train... I'm approaching this like I would when opening a Commendation(Trash) or Victory (Trash) chest.
