Finally time for me to venture into Frostback Basin and a thought came into my mind...

Without giving away any spoilers, I got my hands to try closing the first rift I could see there but boy am I surprised with the challenges the rift demons gave to my full party of lvl 25 even in normal mode!

This really gets me pumped up and looking forward to exploring the rest of the area. I think Jaws of Hakkon is what DA:I should have been in terms of the challenges the Inquisitor and his/her companions face at least when it comes to closing the rifts

Update: It should be 'Hakkon' instead of 'Haakon' my apologies, can't edit the title though :(

The difficulty was hoisted up to eleven in JoH, a good thing IMO.

I really liked exploring the area. Great location. On weird thing, though. The area seems to be almost tropical, which makes it odd for the natives to be wearing thick fur clothes.

I agree and that makes fighting enemies, especially the rift demons that much more challenging.

I agree, the location in Frostback Basin has its own flavor that is distinct to other areas in DA:I. You are pretty observant too on spottingg Avvar's thick clothing inhabiting the dense tropical forest, I was too busy trying to kill them when they attack my group :P

I agree that JoH is visually gorgeous, with some pretty varried terrain.  After navigating around, I'm having a lot less trouble with the main game.  The colors and foliage seem tropical, which jarred me too, but I tell myself it's summer and I've heard that plants and ferns explode in Alaska's summer, for instance.  I also tell myself to quit griping and enjoy the pretty scenery, which for the most part is well lit!

I'm so wowed by the add-on.  In addition to the wild location, the combat really takes it up a notch.  I made it out of camp and used all but 2 health pots on the first batch of spiders.

Ok including in my first impression of Jaws of Hakkon, apart from the beautiful tropical jungles and the much more challenging enemies, I found another surprising thing  and that is TIER 4 ARMOR SCHEMATICS!

So I rushed to a nearby Inquisition camp(every camp has crafting weapon&armor now) and guess what I'm looking?

But I wonder : After all , this DLC takes place before or after the final battle against Coryphius ?

I think before because: there's a line of dialogue, important in my opinion, with the participation of Cassandra.

What would not happen if it were after the final battle , as it may have become Divine .

From what I understand is that Jaws of Hakkon is designed for lvl 20+ content, but I don't see how we can venture into Frostback Basin before killing Corypheus. But be warned though that your party should be geared enough to take on the ramped up challenges the enemies will give.

The giant in Frostback Basin almost wiped my entire group, where Corypheus and his dragon fight posed little challenge...

Also for my case, Leliana was chosen to be Divine but she still resumes her duty as my Spymaster so I would reckon be the same for Cassandra.

There are changes in dialogue in JoH depending on whether you do it before or after finishing the main game. There is obviously one party member you can't take with you if you do it after the main game.
