I saw some folks chatting about it in the ME3MP section so let's get it out of our system...

This year I am gonna "blackout" after 15 overall and ignore the draft 'til the end of Day 2, otherwise I get really antsy through the whole process. Green Bay is my team and they are unlikely to trade up that high, if at all. It'll be easier this way. Anyway, what have you got? Who do you want?

I see the Top 10 shaking out something like this (I dare not prognosticate any further -- the draft is a total crapshoot beyond the Top 5)...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jameis Winston - QB, FSU.

Winston is a knucklehead, but a talented, pro-ready one at QB all the same. Can't argue with the need/value at slot. He can get banished from the league before his rookie contract is up and the improvement in QB play may have still been worthwhile.

(not-)Tennessee Titans: Marcus Mariota - QB, Oregon.

Seems like a foregone conclusion that someone will take Mariota at this slot in a weak QB class. I doubt it will be TEN, but there are many horses in the race (Chargers, Eagles, Browns, Jets, Bears, Bills...)

Jacksonville Jaguars: Leonard Williams - DT, USC.

Stud DTs are not too far behind franchise QBs in draft day value. Fowler is worth consideration, but this is a deep edge-rusher class.

Oakland Raiders: Kevin White - WR, West Virginia.

For a team that needs to grow up quickly, I would not fault them much for taking the more pro-ready Cooper, but I think the presence of veterans like James Jones and others on the team can make them feel comfortable taking the higher-ceiling alternative.

Washington Redskins: Dante Fowler Jr -- DE/OLB, Florida.

Orakpo is gone and was falling apart anyway. A pass-rusher is a big need and Fowler is just about a blue-chip prospect therein.

New York Jets: Alvin "Bud" Dupree -- DE/OLB, Kentucky.

I am told by an inside source that Vic Beasley is not rated as highly in NFL circles as among draftniks (though Shane Ray's recent arrest may have pushed him up the boards). In any event, I suspect NYJ is in the market for an edge-rusher if they cannot/do not land Mariota.

Chicago Bears: Brandon Scherff - OT, Iowa.

Basically just looking ahead to the future here. If/when they replace Cutler, they'll want to have a good supporting-cast on offense. Cooper seems like the obvious choice, but a strong blindside-protector is a new QB's best friend (even moreso than a stud WR).

Atlanta Falcons: Vic Beasley - DE/OLB, Clemson.

Beasley is dripping with athleticism/upside. Dan Quinn could make this kid a star.

New York Giants: Ereck Flowers - OL, Miami.

NYG needs some OL help desperately, and Flowers could potentially bolster any one of four spots.

St. Louis Rams: Amari Cooper - WR, Alabama.

Rams have lots of "role-players" at WR, yet no true #1 guy. I imagine they would be ecstatic to land Cooper.

For Green Bay, CB is one of the more obvious "needs" with Williams and his potential replacement in House both leaving in free agency. I, however, would not sell short the value of revamping our LB corps across the board. We have nobody at ILB to write home about, and have several expiring contracts at OLB. B. Jones, K. Johnson, Kendricks, and/or Harold would all be lovely additions.

Well, 4/10 on my picks. Winston-->TB was expected. Mariota@2 was, too, but it sounds like the Titans are planning to hang on rather than flip him for picks.

Not sure I think much of JAX and OAK for passing up Williams, but, they got good players nonetheless. SO GLAD Williams did not fall to Chicago, although defending Kevin White for the next few years does not sound like much fun. Seriously, though: Richardson-Wilkerson-Williams?? O.O ... that's DL is going to ROFLstomp some offenses.

hmm, im hoping the Pats trade their next year's first round pick to get a early 2nd rounder this year and grab Dorial Green-Beckham, also Ameer Abdullah and Ali Marpet would be great in the second and third round.

or to be safe trade Wendell for a second round pick and grab all 3 in the 2nd round, also, LaFell might be worth a 3rd round pick that can be used for a corner :wizard:

They F'd up before they started. Sammy Watkins is a very talented receiver, but it was silly to trade away their 2015 1st-rounder to move up in a draft that was so deep with WR talent. They could have had someone like OBJ right now AND another first-round player. Stupid bison.

My Jets came out smelling like a rose. Very very pleased with their draft. The AFC East is going to be a blood bath this year. No more pushover for the Pats.
