NFL Rule Change Update! The extra TD point will now be kicked from the 15 yard line instead of the 10 yard line, two-point conversions will remain at the 2 yard line. Defense will now have the ability to score two points on returns. Opinions? I've always though that extra touch down point was a little too easy to acquire...

I've heard about this. I actually don't like it that much. My favorite proposal of the ones I've heard (it might have come from Belichick, although I'm not sure) was this: Either you get the extra point automatically without having to kick the ball, or you go for two. It'll slightly improve player safety, since with the automatic point you don't need to actually have players there on the field, and it might increase the speed of the game as well.

But more importantly, I just don't want the PAT to be difficult because I don't want games to be won and lost because of it. It's the least interesting part of the game, carried out by players who are only on the field for handful plays over the course of the whole game. Imagine that the Seahawks are down 24-31 with two minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Russell Wilson and company then execute a brilliant 90-yard drive to score what should be a game tying touchdown with seconds left. However, the kicker misses the PAT, and the Seahawks lose 30-31. That scenario just not very appealing to me.

Take a look at these Instagram gifs of North Carolina A&T State running back Tarik Cohen. I wasn't sure how to go about posting Instagram gifs, so here's the link:

I wonder what his future holds?

LOL... reminds me of this: http://www.nfl.com/v...d-Goal-12-21-03.

I am pretty meh about this change, myself. I admire the spirit behind it, I guess. If some facet of the game has evolved into being that easy, you change it to make it more challenging, and it keeps special-teams/kicking from becoming less relevant (not that I particularly care for either, but it is a team sport, after all). That said, moving the kick back 13 yards or so does not really make it that much more difficult, and having PATs decide the game really does not sound appealing for reasons you have elaborated on. So, meh.

I do like how the defense can now score on 2pt tries, though.

 Update on the Packers...

-- We did not bring in anyone new in free-agency, as per usual. Green Bay is not the most attractive destination for players next to the likes of New York and Miami, unless players really want to play for a contender -- signing Peppers last season was largely an anomaly.

-- We tend to focus on keeping the talent we've developed. On that note, we managed to bring back WR Randall Cobb and OT Bryan Bulaga, both very significant pieces to our offense. Both of them turned down lots of money from other teams to stay here.

-- Sadly, we lost longtime veteran CB Tramon Williams to Cleveland, and the guy who was to be his successor in CB Davon House to Jacksonville (who offered him an eyebrow-raising amount of money, IMO, for an unproven commodity).

-- Our team largely relies on a draft-and-develop strategy to build our team, since we are not much of a free-agent hot spot. Selecting FS Damarious Randall with our 1st was a head-scratcher since we have two talented young safeties already, but it sounds like he will get a crack at CB, and Capers' scheme employs three safeties pretty frequently, so he will likely line up all over the field. Quentin Rollins was our next pick and a guy whom I really liked as a prospect. He is just oozing with potential.

That comic reminded me of the old Browns "Factory of Sadness" clip from a few years ago.

Tight end Jimmy Graham has been looking good at this summer's OTAs. The former New Orleans Saint appears to be very happy with his new team. Graham was acquired in March in a trade with the Saints for former 1st round pick Max Unger. Though considered a valuable asset, Unger hardly played at all last season due to knee and ankle injuries. In Jimmy Graham, Russell Wilson is expected to find much needed target for his passing game.

Russell Wilson will play the 2015 season whether he gets the gold plated contract he wants or not:

http://www.seahawks....gh-new-nfl-home
Jimmy Graham is also a certified pilot with an interest in stunt flying. I've read elsewhere that Coach Pete Carroll has declined an invite to fly with him...

Cornerback Carey Williams will be replacing Byron Maxwell in Seattle's secondary. Williams was acquired in a straight across trade of starting cornerbacks with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Panther owership felt he's worth the money. Hopefully he does better this coming season. My biggest issue with him, is that he has a bad habit of trying to win the game himself which has led to some bad plays

Either way, I believe the Panthers will do well this season.

Richard Sherman didn't believe in the Madden Curse either, for ODBJ's sake I hope he's right.

So guess who will have a villain character role in Call of Duty: Black Ops III? Beast Mode himself!

Having a character in Black Ops III makes him feel like he's arrived, said Lynch.

Here's a nice, comprehensive, offseason injury update report for all 32 teams from CNN's Bleacher Report:
http://bleacherrepor...h-nfl-offseason

Of special interest, do you remember the team who very possibly might have bested both the Seahawks and the Patriots and won Super Bowl 49 last season, except that they lost both their 1st and 2nd string quarterbacks and were left with the likes of Ryan Lindley? Well, Carson Palmer is recovered from his ACL surgery and is ready to return to training. He will once again be the Cardinal's starting quarterback, with Drew Stanton again as his second. Ryan Lindley is no longer on the Cardinal's roster. I can't imagine who would want him after last year. Surely it's time for him to seek other paths.

I really felt like the Cardinals had more than their share of mishaps during 2014. I still want the Seahawks to beat them, though...

Also, an interview with Coach Bruce Arians:
