No. Traquil tend to be very compliant. Ser Alrik tells Ella in the DA2 quest Dissent that onces she's Tranquil she'll do anything he wishes. And there are a few other ambient conversations from the Gallows where Traquil have been told that in performing the Rite Alrik saved them and they believe it.
And from conversations with Mineave, you find that the Traquil really don't have any self preservation instinct.
It seems to me Traquility takes more than just emotions but idenity. Will would be a part of that.

I think it's more that emotions are such a huge part of human beings. We automatically take our emotions into account when making even small decisions and plans for the future. Lacking that, Tranquil tend to follow the path of least resistance in all things. They seem capable of having preferences, but no drive, not even for their own survival. That's why they're so compliant and helpless in fight or flight situations.

So I wouldn't say it strips identity so much as emotions are a critical part of identity.

Oh well if that is her then I must admit to some disappointment. If nothing else just because I was hoping we were going to explore her powers later.

And that's why they decided to conclude her story that way, I'm afraid. It isn't that they wanted to disown Dawn of the Seeker and everything to do with it, but I don't think they wanted to carry its character arcs forward. Regalyan died at the Conclave, Avexis was made Tranquil, Edmonde died in Asunder, and we never hear what happened to Alte or any of the other mages who helped Cassandra at the Ten Year Gathering. It's safe to assume they're all dead.

 

Hey, at least they didn't have her die at the Conclave. That was also an option.
