Please Bioware, it would be awesome.......you know it would. All mounts are used for is a faster form of travel, having a Dragonling mount would be fun, you could make it so we could shoot fireballs and bite enemies.

You could also give it an ability to consume dead enemies which then cause it to grow into a mature dragon or drake. Also if you're a Mage the dragon could adopt the element your staff is using, so if you're staff uses lightining the dragonling uses lightning etc......

I think possibly a dragonling mount might happen.  However, making it viable for combat is probably never going to happen.  It's not a bad idea, but it's pretty unlikely.  Other than lore reasons, that all of that animation looks like a pain in the butt.

First, you gotta account for coding in the dragon itself, and making sure it moves, runs and shoots fire correctly.  Then you have to make sure that the models of the player races (four in the case of this game) of both genders all sit and animate properly while on the back of the mount.  That's 8 models right there.  Then, you have to do all the coding and programming to for the spells and need to make sure it corresponds with the dragonling's abilities.   This would be if we were only talking one model of dragon.

Then the writers would have to come up with a lot of reasons for this spell school and why there hasn't been records of mages doing it before.  The fans would then start finding another reason to fight, asking "Why didn't you give this sooner?  I smell retcon, you greedy jerks!"

I felt worse about killing him than the Duke.  Leopold was a BAMF, and a worthy boss battle.  <salute>

Why does it have to be "OP"......it's just something that would be fun, remember when games were about having fun instead of feeling like a chore. I mean come on, all mounts are good for is getting from point A to B and making annoying sounds.

@Natashina, "Then the writers would have to come up with a lot of reasons for this spell school and why there hasn't been records of mages doing it before".

Well no, Dragons are magical creatures and during the story you learn they're immune to the blight for a time. All you would have to do is say they can absorb your staff/weapon rune ability for a short period of time. As for the damage the dragonling does with it's attack, that would depend on how powerful your weapon is. Also i understand that doing something like this would take a lot of work but it would be worth it, the game is pretty dull with the fetch quests and travel from point A to B at the moment.

Well it's op if you make it a dragon. Or it's just a mount with weird effects.

Dragonling mount is fine. not a Dragon

Actually id like one of those dracolisks that the Archon has. Apparently specially bred to breathe fire or ice.

Sure the mount doesn't have to attack, but.it would be cool to see it breath a little elemental breath every so often :D
