Well, once I've got the Waterdeep section done, that should give me an idea of how long the whole thing will take. At that point I can make a rough extrapolation and see if it's really feasible. ![]()

This is a little experiment in clothing presentation. The red-blue robe at center was converted to a placeable and centered on an armor rack. The only changes were to shrink the arm widths so it looks unoccupied and to make the neck opening black. (I added a placed effect to make it look magical.)

This is part of the Waterdeep magic shoppe, with Sobrey to the left. Still working on the rest of the presentation.

Looks pretty good so far. Where is Sobrey's Guardian Bone Golem?
From what I recall that stood by the front door. It's kind of worrying I can remember he had a bone golem! I haven't played HotU in a very long time.

Thanks. The bone golem is not visible from this angle. I had to use an enlarged skeleton for the model and I've been tempted to replace it with a different golem model, but for now that should do.

Do you remember Ensrric the talking longsword you pick up in Undermountain? Apparently there was a cut quest that involved him. Something to do with finding his descendants. Shame really.

While building (and in some cases rebuilding) the areas, I've found it expedient to adapt parts of other models to fill specific roles. Shown below is a widened (and mirror-imaged) stone balcony, curtains with the light material folded back (so you can see the window), the well shaft from the inner part of the Old Owl Well, a tintable cloak for a wall hanger, the lower section of the cabinet, a shortened version of the sign board from the city hak, a wash tub, separately tintable bed covers for the bunk bed model, a wooden cover for the stone base of the standard interior columns, the lower half of a wardrobe model, a tintable robe merged with an armor stand, and a chimney from one of the burned rural houses.

The hanging cloak I'm not yet completely happy with, but the rest are working out okay.

One of the difficult things that we now encounter is that we are working with a huge resource of placeable cc and it is very hard to know what is out there. Some of these things exist within the whitcher project (the tub) and within tintable sets (the beds) but how do we communicate or catalog that? I like that tub though and the well is nice. We can uild wells but the texture does not fade to black in the way the stock one does.
I like the wall hanging it's a good way to break up walls. There's one in Tchos's set but it uses and single texture and cannot be tinted. the robes on a stand are great
. You did that curtain model for me as well, without the back drape, and it is very useful for openings as well as windows.

It would require someone to take screenshots of every individual object in all available content and associate the object name and where it can be found with the image, preferably with searchable or filterable tags to make it easier to find things. Which is probably why we don't have such a thing.

There might be a way though, your comments are correct and it sounds like a huge task but they have got me thinking. I have the 2da in an excel spreadsheet, I wonder what it would take to add a few columns and fill them by a search on the 2da name? I think excel can look for parts of strings?
What might you want to sort by?
Item type (e.g. wardrobe)
Secondary item type (e.g. armoir)
Is it tintable

We do have such a thing, but it only covers OC and MotB content. http://neverwinterva...al-index-deluxe
I find it very useful for making weapon variants, as it shows all the weapon parts.

I find it useful to categorize placeables at a higher level with groups of 10 or more. Hence: furniture, containers, crafting, signs, &c.

The good thing about Excel is that it has a "find" function, and you can even filter rows to show only items matching a certain string, so it doesn't really matter if you nest categories or just attach a lot of tags to an item. I prefer the latter for visual searching because often a thing has more than one "base" category it could go into, where a person might reasonably look for a certain item, except it was put in the other one, grouped with another category of items. Like a drow chest, for instance. Categorise as "drow items" or "containers"? In the tag system, it doesn't matter.
Even HTML, like that visual catalog that I don't think I'd seen before, is useful for its searchability, even if it doesn't have filtering options like Excel.

I've been looking at the excel option today. It's still a lot of work but it might be possible particularly if I can use a single function to search and return a category.
I will ask at work, there are some with more excel knowledge than myself.

Personally I use LibreOffice since it's free (although I have donated to the cause). In terms of finding the parts I need, I've been doing fine with my screen shot collection.

Technically I use OpenOffice, which is also free and essentially the same as LibreOffice, but I say "Excel" because it's fully compatible and more people understand what I mean.

I have children so I got office 2010 from Software for Students. Three PC's for £26.00. All I had to do was sell their souls to Gatesmodius the lord of the (windows) 8 level of hell and I got a good deal. Fair swap on balance.

I set my (at the time) 75 year old aunt up with open office. She was able to pick it up and still uses it.

More metallic specular settings would help it look more like gold, I think, like the gold threadwork in the fabric rolls, which shines nicely in the light.

I've finally caught up to where I was before everything got corrupted. Here's a pair of Waterdeep WiP shots that kind of show the general atmosphere. Man that cobble stone sure looks bare... I need to dirty it up some.
