The question is if games are crafted to appease men, mainly, or if men are more attracted - in general - to games than women, as if they have a large reception of the game itself. Certainly men and women do play, but is it true or false that males play more and have more fun in playing?

Gary Gygax said, once

I think many games are crafted to appease the people making them for the most part I would think, which historically was more male dominated.

Nowadays though I think Final Fantasy XIII I think had something like 50% sales to females or something like that (so 3million+ or something), in general I would consider Final Fantasy as a whole to prove that females are interested in video games, play them, etc.

Women are called seamstresses. Men are called tailors.

Why aren't men called seamsters? And women tailoresses?

Regarding the first post - I will disagree. I'm a girl and I bet I even have more fun playing, simply because when someone realizes that a girl beat them it is very amusing to me. My dad is the main system administrator in his firm and since I remember we had PC home. He was the one who played video games and I was constantly there to watch. And he taught me how to play. I loved Doom, although I freaked out when I was shooting monsters. I was 5 years old when I started playing. Then was Lara Croft in Tomb Rider. I played almost all of the first video games to be released. My dad saw that I was pretty good and when he played I was even more observant than him on finding solution in the game. I grew up a bit, started playing MMORPG-s on my own and started drawing. At the age of 10 I decided I want to make character concept art for living (yes I researched it back then). Eleven years later - I'm on my path towards working in a video game company. So no I don't believe video games are a "man" thing. Even girls want to be heroes and save the world you know.
On the topic of sexy women in revealing clothes. I know most women find that offending, but I draw such women, I like images of such (no sorry, I'm not even bi), but I totally understand why they make them like that - they sell. And since generally more men play video games - it's totally normal. I don't find that sexist. There are a lot of strong video game female characters. And nothing wrong with them looking appealing. But instead of screaming how this is "not fair" and that real women don't look like that, well I try to be more like them. I'm not even talking about the appearance, I'm talking about the character - the strong will, the skills, the bravery. Those are things to look up to for everybody I think. So I don't let gender define those lines. Because honestly I may be a girl, but my codex isn't to play dirty, just because gender demands it. Never surrender and if you fall - do it with dignity (i.e. League of Legends, WoW battlegrounds, PvP in general). And also I'm pretty sure that most female heroines have more balls than some men and that is totally fine. I also have the guts to stand up for what I believe in. And video games taught me that.
Sorry for the long post. I wonder if I should show you a photo of me, but you are all gonna be naughty about it.

Well too late on that one cuz I posted it anyways. It was going to prove a point that some women make, when they argue about video game heroines being nothing like regular women, but in fact it is possible to look like one on regular day basis. But those women particularly not into gaming because of beautiful video game heroines just use that as an excuse because they simply don't have the need (or desire) to put some work into their own appearance and personality.

And yeah good for you for catching only that phrase from my whole post, you know, speaks enough about you.

Your whole post isn't strong at all, it's a fallacy, as I have pointed. You can't say women enjoy gaming (and not videogaming alone, as asked in the opening post) as men do just because you do.

You haven't spoken of numbers or popular experience (which isn't enough, anyway), you have just talked about yourself and then applied the same to every other woman.

As for the quotation, I had to make fun of an out of context, sexist and ridiculous statement.

Sure, because your judgement matters. I was speaking only of my experience, because you clearly are a sexist. Atleast you sound like one, point is - any gamer girl with experience as much as yours can beat your arse in a video game. Like it or not. And how did you assume I speak for all women? Most don't care about video games and that is fine. But lots of them are in fact, fans like myself. And turning a hobby into devotion and motivation is nothing to be ashamed of.

Also your judgement of me is completely wrong you know, not every girl who looks average or, you won't believe - has breasts, is of easy virtue or some other matter like that. Cuz you know...

Calls somebody else sexist. Implies that just because somebody is a girl, they could beat me at video games given equal experience.

Seems legit.

To begin with, you missed the point of the discussion, which I started asking if women had the same interest in games (and not only videogames) as men do, and second if they enjoy games like males. I had made no assertions, it was a question and everyone was free to argue on the matter.

Then, my judgement has the same value as yours, with the difference of being based on facts rather than fallacies.

This answers to your derailment from the original post.

I'm not sexist, but you must admit the absence of context in your closing with impliances of your photos and indecent reactions, plus the fact I've seen the photo and you posed with the same attitude of a woman of ill repute. Which I'm not saying you are, but given the closing you made about your photo and getting men lively is not keeping distance from my analysis.

Isn't it? Can you tell me that only your male buddies can say beat you in PvP? Winning in a video game implies only to men? And I don't think I'm sexist just because I say that both genders can be equally (and thus honestly) interested in video games? Experience in video gaming matters, not the gender. If someone is good at that - they are good. It's like arguing with me about who is better singer - a woman or a man or stuff like that. Men do ballet, girls play football. Whether one is good at what he is doing is another matter. Where gender also doesn't matter. Practice matters or you are telling me men are better just because they are born men?

Oh man! You're a sexist! Uh oh! Better back off guys! The guy who's obviously faking a female persona is gettin' pissed!

Even if you were a woman, here's my answer to "sexism" and when women call anyone a sexist. 10422379_10153693155300942_1302870728493

To Commander Rpg: why do you think I'm wrong? I share my experience and my point of view and it is not fallacy, that is how I feel about video games - I love them. And your definition of enjoyment may differ. What in my first post doesn't suggest I enjoy video games? And sure, you say my reaction is indecent, but I see that for you, argumenting myself is so. I don't see your problem with me, particularly or my opinion. My photos are just photos. Go judge for example if Yaya Han is a woman or low morale just because she has big breasts, like really nice judgement you have there. 10/10. It's like me telling you that you are a *ugly word of your choice* just because say your penis is shorter than 25cm. Or saying that you are *ugly word* because your penis is bigger than 25cm and I'm implying you sleep with everything that moves. See? So no, you can't judge me right only because you have seen one photo. And I'm sure you don't even have the nuts to simply talk to me without your stupid judgement and see for yourself that you were wrong.

This kid's gotta be joking, but after looking at his profile, it just seems he's incredibly mad and trying way too hard to seem edgy on the internet. Not to mention anyone with half a brain would've realized he's a guy from the get-go.

Experience doesn't matter as much as you'd think once you get past the initial learning phase.

Anybody with skill equal to mine can keep up with me in PvP. However just because somebody is a girl with as much experience as me doesn't mean she's going to be as skilled as me, and it doesn't mean that I'm going to be as skilled as her. That goes for men as well. Everybody is different, and it depends on the person.

Cyonan, cleverly said about the nuts, kudos to that.

But ultimately you can't say that one person can't be as skilled or better than the other. Also you (not precisely mean you), can't say that a girl can't enjoy a video game as much as a guy does. I can dare say that some girls enjoy video games differently (me, being a girl = talking from experience). I can't say what men see and enjoy in a video game, may be the same. I for example may enjoy fishing in the Dalaran wishing fountain all day. Some enjoy going to raids all day. But you can't define all girls or guys as one. There are as much different experiences as there are gamers. And talking about the job description - for me there is no such term as "gamer girl". There is a gamer, nevermind who is behind the pc. And to those hooking up on phrases out of context - the thing I said about enjoying someone got beaten by a girl in a video game is my personal experience, because just like you - most don't actually believe girls are geniunely interested in video gaming.
