Isabela in the MP is Headcanon Breaking (or where the OP is clearly overreacting because he cares too much about Izzy?)

I read those and I said it many times, if our choices don't matter then she doesn't belong there. She was written as a SP character and should remain a SP character.

Well, since SP and MP were released at once, you could argue that the MP characters are actually SP characters, since they appear and are mentioned etc. Should they remain in SP too, just because they're newer?

What I said a few times is that I hate that SP characters are being put in the MP because they were SP characters to begin with.

They are supposed to be characters. Actual characters. They have dialogue, a background, concept (art) and a writer. What would an "MP" character even be?

In other words, I just wish MP stopped influencing SP in BioWare games.

We know by now that the resources being wasted point has been dismissed at various occasions.

I think both of the MP so far only upgraded the games. I really like them, I met some great people there and, yes, like Bioware said it "enables [me] to just play with [my] friends in the world of Dragon Age". Constantly talking down about it or giving backhanded remarks about what you believe belongs into a DA/BW game or not is very insulting to people like "us", whether you realize it or not. That's the general air of what I call "SP purists", so I may be generalizing too much in this case. Hence my unusually snappy tone, yet I gladly stand corrected.

You know, if you miss Isabela so much (as do I) this may be the chance to give it another shot. You might even like it ;)

Well... it sorta sucks that they only have one line to say and nothing else in the SP. It ruins my fun of trying to know them in the SP mode as the Inquisitor, you know?

Too bad they don't have passing banter, sort of like the vorcha and woman in the Sunset Strip, though that one is a bit too meta-gamey, since they go on about some of the gameplay stuff like dropping packs and whatnot.

1 - Exactly what you said. Characters that are "in the multiplayer mode section of the game" and don't influence the SP mode in any way. I don't like what BioWare did with ME3 to begin with. I'm thankful all we get in DAI are cameos of our MP characters, but I'm disappointed at the same time because our Inquisitor can barely interact with them.

2 - I wasn't trying to insult anyone who like the MP though. I'm just very stubborn and yes, I am a SP purist. MP isn't so bad, it just lacks some oomph. Still don't like how their characters appear in the SP though. Both SP and MP should be separate experiences that don't influence one another in any way, I believe.

3 - ... True... but it's still not the same as interacting with her as the protagonist of the SP. :|

1) What do you expect from a game designed by feminists and gay men.  They're doing this to ****** people off.

2) Beautiful women like Isabela have been deemed as evil by the gay/fem at bioware, so they purposely put her into these disrespectful roles.

1 - Now, that is just rude and completely out of the line.

2 - I'm gay, I respect women's rights and I love Isabela. In no way do I see her as an evil character. She's my gal pal in many of my files.

But that's not possible - it doesn't influence the gamplay, so people are in no way obligated to play MP to get the experience.  However, demanding to completely un-link it even story/character/lore wise still seems a little patronizing. I wouldn't want to play the multiplayer mode to my favourite franchise that... at the same time doesn't have anything to do with it.

I only play one SP character & in some installments I didn't even romance anyone, cause nobody spoke to me in this regard in particular. Yet I don't demand all of the content I voluntarily miss because of preferences to be ... removed.

I don't demand, I wish. It's the feedback section after all. I don't like how SP and MP are together in the same package because I feel they are both affecting one another. If it was a platformers game like Mario and there wasn't any RPG element involved, I'd probably less stuck up. Though this franchise and Mass Effect are all about SP choices that influence the world as you progress through the franchise. The MP feels so much out of the place in DAI and ME3 that I wonder why they just couldn't make separate games instead where you don't need the SP to enjoy them. Oh it's fun as extras for people who are bored with the SPs, but for SP purists -- at least some of them -- it's an alien, dangerous zone that is like a ticking bomb.

I don't know if I should laugh or not.

I saw more straight Men call Isabela a w***e or a s**t then women or gay men.
Also, Izzy's writer is a woman and I recall Gaider liked her. But I fear nothing I said will really matter you.

Anyway, if Isabela will now be randomly chatting to other agents on the battlements, she will not be far from where Hawke hangs out on the battlements. And she may know Leliana intimately, so why shouldn't she help the Inquisition when called.

This is something I'm wondering as well.  With three new MP characters, will those be randomly wandering around Skyhold too?  If so, Isabela would be the most difficult to implement (although I'd imagine her hanging around with Varric).  And then, when Hawke shows up in Skyhold, if Hawke dies, was romanced, etc., would lead to several different conclusions and add a lot of dialogue that wasn't there before.  My fear, is if they do this (have the new MP characters in Skyhold), they'll be just as silent as the ones already there.

And it would also ****** me off as in my current SP game, I'm just about to invade Adamant and Hawke has already left Skyhold.  I would start it over if there is dialog, but I've been farming schematics for days, and we all know how exhausting that is.

Considering how DA2 companions have gotten the short end of the stick in DAI (Varric excluded obviously), I wouldn't be surprised if they all now became available as MP characters.

Hm, maybe that means we might finally see Zevran reappear as a MP char as well?

Oh  hell no, Zevran deserves his own DLC for how f**** over his fans have been.

It's called PR spin. They never gave us a comprehensive awnser, and considering that the tactics and AI work better in DA2 (not to mention P.C issues):

If they thought that adding old characters would have convinced more players to play DAI MP, they were right. I've never played it, but I will just to see how Izzy is involved in the Inquisition.

Of course I'll pay nothing other than the PlayStation Plus.

I'm not going to support microtransactions.

And that wouldn't simply be down to a new engine (frostbite 3) then?  ;)

Frostbite three has been out for a while, and it's a pis* poor excuse on their part. WE lost the radial menu because o fMP

Also Consider that they admit that if affects it, on their own website.

Was multiplayer (MP) mode created by the same team that made single-player (SP)?

MP and SP were developed side by side. The multiplayer environment gave us a perfect opportunity for testing combat, creatures, and encounter design, and since the two environments are near-identical, every improvement spread to both parts of the game.

Therefore:

That's exactly what it is, yes.

"In media, a spin-off is a radio program, television program, video game, film, or any narrative work, derived from one or more already existing works, that focuses, in particular, in more detail on one aspect of that original work"

Alright, am I the only one here who feels insulted that a SP character ends up being a non-important story character in the multiplayer mode? She deserved so much better.  I guess there will be a lot of people happy to play as her in the MP, however I'm not liking what they're doing with the MP. It should had been a new character, someone we never met before to play the duelist role. For me, Izzy deserves a spot in a single player DLC or in a future game, just not in the MP. It's just wrong on so many levels. Yeah, yeah, some of you will disagree with me but that's not how I see Isabela at all. She was my gal pal in DA2 and I was always bringing her around with Aveline. This MP thing is a big joke that I'm forced to deal with sadly... Hurray...

Edit: The only reason why I'm so AGAINST her being a MP character is because of all the decisions we made in DA2's SP. You romanced her? Betrayed her? Etc? Won't matter anymore. The MP is lore breaking and headcanon breaking.

                                                                                                <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

I agree.

My view is that EA needs an attraction for the old DA gamers to encourage them to play MP.  It serves no purpose to bring in Isabella for the new console kiddies other than the idea that players who romanced/like Isabella in DA2 would then try to play her in MP.

One of the Bio arguments was that Inquisition needed new characters. Re-introducing the old ones was impossible due to too many possible player choices which could not be properly addressed in Inquisition.  Even with the Dragon Age Keep database hiccups still occur.  Yet, here we are with a DA2 character.

What's next? The Warden?, Alistair?, Morrigan?

Isabela already has been in two games (DAO and DA2) and starred in a comic book series. I think it's time other characters got the spot light instead of just running back to previous companions. Let her stay in MP instead of taking space in the SP.

I disagree....

Well, if you consider that GoT is a bigger mess and it still works, then yeah, we might have some inkling of hope lol. Seriously, I got a little put off by Isabella's presence in the MP as well, especially since she was my Hawke's LI, and while he appeared in the SP she only got lip service by Varric saying she's an admiral now, and has a big hat. So, if they're careful about it, and don't screw up the decisions from DA2 then I'm fine with it, if they do, then I most definitely am not fine with it. We'll see.
