Isabela in the MP is Headcanon Breaking (or where the OP is clearly overreacting because he cares too much about Izzy?)

Frostbite three has been out for a while, and it's a pis* poor excuse on their part. WE lost the radial menu because o fMP

Also Consider that they admit that if affects it, on their own website.

Was multiplayer (MP) mode created by the same team that made single-player (SP)?

MP and SP were developed side by side. The multiplayer environment gave us a perfect opportunity for testing combat, creatures, and encounter design, and since the two environments are near-identical, every improvement spread to both parts of the game.

Therefore:

We did not lose the radial menu because of MP. Technically, it's still there, you just can't access extra skills from it like before. Mass Effect 3 still had its radial menu, even though the MP didn't. Most likely, we lost the radial access to extra skills because they wanted to limit us, nothing more.

Oh  hell no, Zevran deserves his own DLC for how f**** over his fans have been.

It's called PR spin. They never gave us a comprehensive awnser, and considering that the tactics and AI work better in DA2 (not to mention P.C issues):

Well, Zevran isn't the only one, at least he appeared in some format even if only as text on the War Table. Where are Shale, Oghren, Nathaniel and Fenris? We've had little to no word on them and they're just the tip of the iceberg. WHERE IS MY DOG!!!!#@_$$_$#    He's the only character I truly care for, his adorable Mabari face is part of why I stuck with DA 2 long enough to complete it. Just walking into the house and seeing him laying there was enough for me to say "I have to get a bigger place" and go on that expedition. I have never done a playthrough DA:O where I didn't A.) Rescue him and B.) Instantly say yes when he comes to find me. Long live the Barkspawn!!!!!!

You know what... if we can't have a dog mabari in the SP, it would still be a nice option for the MP.

At least in Dog's case, he doesn't need speech beyond various pitched barks and can be interpreted in a lot of different ways so he would probably more dialogue with the other characters than anyone. Just imagine Dog (I named mine Laddie) and Tamar arguing as they kill stuff.

That was their excuse and it doesn't make sense. It was done for MP because they couldn't have players pausing to bring up radial menus in the middle of MP.

Isn't this confusing two different dogs?

Your explanation doesn't make much sense either, you know.

It depends on how you think about it because based on Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age II being games that run side by side its possible your dog in DA II is only summonable because he's hanging with the Warden.

There's plenty of grey areas in DA games and this is one of them, I would say yes its two different dogs but the Mabari himself doesn't change much from the first to the second game. Both Mabaris are just as lovable and expressive, using the same barks and whines to express the same emotions.

Mass Effect 3 had radial menus that paused the game. They took those out for MP, and everything worked just fine. So your explanation sort of falls flat on its face.

How about making a new "dog" from scratch?

Considering how BW's probably working on werewolf and golem characters for the MP (I'm pretty sure they already stated that they were a while back), I don't think a mabari character would be that far out of the realm of possibility.

Alright, am I the only one here who feels insulted that a SP character ends up being a non-important story character in the multiplayer mode? She deserved so much better.  I guess there will be a lot of people happy to play as her in the MP, however I'm not liking what they're doing with the MP. It should had been a new character, someone we never met before to play the duelist role. For me, Izzy deserves a spot in a single player DLC or in a future game, just not in the MP. It's just wrong on so many levels. Yeah, yeah, some of you will disagree with me but that's not how I see Isabela at all. She was my gal pal in DA2 and I was always bringing her around with Aveline. This MP thing is a big joke that I'm forced to deal with sadly... Hurray...

Edit: The only reason why I'm so AGAINST her being a MP character is because of all the decisions we made in DA2's SP. You romanced her? Betrayed her? Etc? Won't matter anymore. The MP is lore breaking and headcanon breaking.

Pretty much this, when I heard they were bringing back one of my favorite rogues, Isabela, I was like COOL... until I realized that it was only for MP. Seriously... for the few that care, great, I sincerely hope it adds to your MP experience (of which I have zero interest in participating in). She was my Hawke's main squeeze... What a waste. Regardless of the GOTY awards this game has won, the powers that be, simply do not get it and doesn't sound like they will get it anytime soon. #winning

No.

So you solely came in here to say "This doesn't affect me". You also realize that Isabela has been around since DA:O. She wasn't just some character they created for DA 2. So the I don't like DA 2 is kind of irrelevant in context to her as a character.

You don't control a bunch of companions + the player character in MP. You do in SP. That is why the radial menu is needed (in sp). The MP is just a dumbed down version of the sp.

Honestly, the thing that bothers me most about MP Isabela is that she has all new, beautifully-crafted, and good looking hair on her head that SP player won't ever see :P

I support Isabela in DAMP, because like Hawke, I have absolutely no problem spending an evening watching the back of her head...

The MP was canon unfriendly from the very start. Instead of giving us generic kits which we can customize similiar to ME3's MP, we got complete characters with preset backstories, personalities and voices. They have names, they appear on the war table missions and they talk to each other during MP games.

The whole "they won't shut up and will repeat their lines ad infinitum" issue aside, how does it work to have one agent in the team twice? You don't just have two keepers on the team, you have two Nerias. And that right there breaks canon.

Or how about plundering elven ruins while fighting through them? I'm surprised Neria and Cillian are okay with that. Not that plundering Orleasian chateaus is much better, diplomatically speaking.

There's too much singleplayer content mixed into the MP and it suffers for it.

I think the set characters in DAIMP is a real strength, so much more than the generics in MEMP (though the Krogan were awesome).

The banter is also wonderful, sure they repeat, but there are hundreds of combinations.

I would welcome more single player content mixed in, and more links back into the SP game, I think that would improve it further,

though I'm not convinced the whole of the player base is quite ready for that.

I completely disagree.

The set characters are a weakness because they do not allow headcanon. They force you into a role. Through the generic appearance of the ME3 characters (everyone is wearing face concealing helmets, masks, hoods etc) and the many possible combinations for colors you can customize each kit - this is not possible in DAIMP. Sure you have 3 versions of each armor set but it's clearly still the same character wearing it.

The banter repeats endlessly, there aren't hundreds of combination. You get to hear the exact same conversation between characters at least 3 times during an operation. It gets annoying really, really quick.

No, single and multiplayer need to be decoupled completely. Multiplayer shouldn't be about farming, crafting and "roleplay"... that's something for MMOs.

*snip*

I know you disagree, I read your post above.

Repeating it isn't going to bring additional agreement.

That there are hundreds of banter combinations is a simple fact.

12 characters each with 3 comments, each of which can have 11 different responses.

Add another 30 additional lines per character, for a range of situations.

(12 x 3 x 11) + (30 x 12) = 756 banter combinations, or with the 3 new characters:

(15 x 3 x 14) + (30 x 15) = 1,080 banter combinations.

In short, unique characters, fantastic.

Increased crossover between the formats, so long as progression and loot are not impacted, is to be encouraged

and I think it is more likely to be seen in ME:N multiplayer, than not, in my opinion, as you can see BioWare's direction of travel here.
