Not that I'm too terribly concerned about it, but this number is not gonna be hit.

 

I'm not sure how you guys came up with this number, or if there is a mathematical error in the program being used to count the gold or what, but this number is just not gonna happen under the current circumstances.

 

Perhaps, the system was meant to count each individual person's gold acquired and it's only counting the group as a whole, but as of right now, that seems to be the only logical explanation.

 

If you were to multiply our current number x4 ((about 15,000,000) x 4 would put us a little over the first star) , we might be on path to hit 240,000,000. But right now, there is no way it's happening, the way the system is currently counting.

I don't think it was intentional, but I do believe an error was made somewhere.

 

Someone goofed up pretty bad on this one, easily fixed though if they own up to the mistake.

There will be mockery in twitch chat on tuesday, considering the "we know it's ambitious, but we did some solid math" claims on yesterday's stream. Cause yeah, this one is waaaaaay off the mark. And from my limited sample of pugging yesterday, people are generally doing the doors, so it isn't for a lack of trying. Something is wrong for sure.

Hmm, you guys may be on to something here,....

 

This is probably why no one from BW has commented on the obviously very unattainable goal.

 

A little twist, "Since you guys failed to loot the treasure, Dragons have shown up to hoard the treasure for themselves", an introduction to the DLC,...

 

Or they could of just messed up the math on the challenge,....either is possible i guess.

That's pretty much what I thought when I saw that PC is only around 20% of the way there. A highly ambitious gold-related challenge to coincide with the dragon DLC, or another mistake. As you said, either is possible, but neither would surprise me.

I remember making a thread to call foul and was soundly chastised by angry PC players who said the challenge just hadn't been quick enough to track their uber completion success.

It was the first challenge weekend and the chest was 'won',

probably because there was no data to verify it was 'not legit'

and the MP team didn't want a controversy in week one.

 

Since then, over many weekly challenges, and let's face it, we've been tracking the numbers on the weekly threads,

we have seen PC progress aligned between PS4 and XB1 progress.

 

XB1 remains barely past the 1st star, along with other platforms.

 

This weekend an extra dragon chest was teased, I think,

and suddenly after struggling alongside everyone else PC leaps to completion from one star.

 

There are bigger things in life to get upset about,

but to conjecture that some PC player decided to hack the gold data feed and cheat the challenge

stealing some dragon loot for themselves and sod everyone else, is a perfectly credible view to take.

 

That's no disrespect to 99.99% of PC players who had nothing to do with it.

 

But this stinks more than the ham at camp

Well,after breaking every pot, looting every chest, robbing wraith's of their lunch money, I've barely seen the XB1 meter move.  No dragon chest for us, I guess.  No free character.  Bwa.

I know in ME3 it's possible to hack the credits received for a match.
if the same thing has happened here, it should be easy to see an 80 million gold jump to someones account. Or 4 people suddenly getting 20 million or any other variation you'd like to run with.

I've managed to save up a grand total of 36k gold so it wasn't me sir.
