Why is there a lock on how many saves we can have in DA:I? it should be unlimited.

There's a lock? Ah.. What system are you running on?

PS4 after 50 saves, auto-saves and Milestone saves included. You can't make any more saves. I have a lot of characters and with all the autosaves and milestone saves it adds up.

Ah, I agree with you then... if there's not some huge technical problem that will cause game-breaking issues if the saves are not capped. I haven't actually got a PS4, but does it allow you to make multiple profiles like PS3 does? If so, does using an alternate profile allow you to go past the limit? It will be a pain for where you are now, but it could let you spread future characters through different profiles so the cap doesn't hit as hard, granted you will have to remember which characters are on which profile.

From past discussions about this the issue seems to be the crappily programmed UI that's not able to process a list exceeding that number of save slots. BW said they'd maybe look into it at some point. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Every console game I've played had a save limitation: Jade Empire: 200 total saves, Mass Effect: 10 characters, 32 saves per character, Fable: 6 characters (I think it was six, less than ten anyway), Dragon's Dogma: one character
and so on...

Dragon's Dogma: one character
and so on...
At least it's not Dragon's Dogma bad. I created two extra xbox profiles just so I could play more than one character in DD. Ridiculous.

It bugs me more that we're not given seperate character folders and all the saves are lumped into the same folder, who thought that was a good idea?
Well, at least on PC it's an issue, I'm not sure about the other console versions?

What's the memory storage on the PS4/Xbone? Is that in any way connected to the limit?
I've heard that the PC limit is 250 (haven't hit it yet myself), which seems very arbitrary since there's potentially a lot more memory on a PC for save files and what not. I'm wondering if the PS4/Xbone also have save limits that are not really proportionate to their memory.

I hit the 250 limit right at the end of the Emerald Graves, but before slaying the dragon. Also had the Temple of Mythal onward to do. I only had to move the files to a different folder.
The limit is there to cut down on loading times for the list of saves. I know for a fact that near the limit it took about 15 seconds for the list of saves to show up. But I don't think it had that problem if loading from within the game. Meaning, it was just at the start of the game on the menu screen, not while playing the game.

On PS3 it's 30 saves, and I think something is wrong because I deleted three hard saves after the game told me I couldnt start a new game because I was at the save limit, and I still can't start a new game. I deleted two more, still can't... I'm not deleting anymore. Oh well, no new playthroughs for me, I guess.
Does it still do it on a different profile?

Yep, but it's no big deal really. Mostly just wanted to make a new character because I didn't like how my last elf rogue came out but didn't want to delete because I was already so far, but since BE is releasing tomorrow...

It's also annoying that you can't name your saved games also the character selection for saved games seems very random as it isn't filtered by name, class, level or last saved time seems like a very odd outline.

I think the lock on the ruines would be better. I would love to move them from weapon to weapon like I could in the first game.
