I was browsing through pictures of models (studying face anatomy...) and came across a picture of Carolyn Murphy. I was drawn to her because she looked so similar to my Shepard in-game. Just for reference:

 

 

That made me so happy for some reason. I suddenly felt like there was a real face behind the character.   Albeit, only under certain angles/lighting/makeup...

 

But this made me curious:

- Were you inspired by or had a person in mind when you were creating your Shepard?

- Have you ever tried to create your Shepard's face around a certain model using reference pictures and all that jazz?

- If you could choose a custom face model (like Sheploo) for your Shepard, who would it be?

I'm limited by what the character creator offers so I  didn't model my femshep after anyone. I just make her look the best I can.

 

If I was to choose a custom face model to go by it would be Jaclyn Smith.

My main Shep looks surprisingly much like Conrad Verner    , just without a real beard.

(Really, the first time I played ME1 I thought Conrad actually used a slight variation of my PC's face. I felt pretty stupid in my 2nd playthrough with a different Character )

 

My latest Shepard was supposed to look at least similar to Jewel Staite.

lol. That would be fittingly creepy if he copied Shepard's face too.

 

Jewel Staite/Kaylee is ridiculously cute. I'm inspired to give it a try making her in my next playthrough.

In all honesty... I really like Fem!Shep as she looks in M3, albeit with some tweaks here and there.

With Male!Shep... I tried to make them like Tom Hardy once...

Failed utterly and miserably...

Always tried to get my Femshep to look like Milla Jovovich (sp?).

The CC is too limited if you want to make a Shepard who was based on anyone (even more difficult if it wasn't caucasians). Although Mass Effect 3 does CC better than the first two games but its not as flexible as The Sims (even Dragon Age does CC, slightly better than ME). The first time I tried making a Shepard that was based on a person, I was using Maki Horikita as a reference (since she fit a facial structure set in the CC) and attempted a Japanese Shepard (with blue-purple eyes... because... eezo exposure!)

Later I want a southeast asian Shepard so I tried using my own face as a base feature to create my current Shepard. I didn't exactly nail it right (I can't do anything about the nose and she's way prettier than me) but its the nearest thing I could do with the CC who I think is realistic as an asian...

If I really want a genuine face model avatar for FemShepard. Probably Zhao Wei as FemShep....

As for Shepardloo... I want Shepardloo with hair.

I have to go with this current FShep. Not my creation, but fits the voice and she's a derivative of the default ME3 Femshep.  I just adore this one.

I would have to say that my Femshep was somewhat inspired by eva marcille except my Shepard has a different hair and eye color.
