What are the Reapers? Are they sentient ships or they robots made out of people-goo inside big ships? ME2 says the latter, but when we're actually in the core of a Reaper it's just a sentient ship with no people-goo robot inside.
ME2 cared nothing for the lore of the franchise.

Taking away systems because they're complex means you dumbed the game down.

Did you never romance anyone? Or talk to Garrus? Or Tali? Or Aria? Half of the character interactions are cringe-worthy because of the dialog and delivery. Watch the Jacob romance on YouTube if you want to facepalm yourself into last week.

Learn2Read.

DA2 was universally praised as amazing by mainstream gaming and media outlets. I rest my case.

As a game it is better than most. Better than 95% of games I would say. But it's very stupid. The story is trash. If we were to compare it to great films it would seem laughably bad.

Yeah, I have to admit, I won't cry if Bioware continues not to cater to your tastes.

I think it will be late 2016/early 2017. With how little they've announced, they still have at least a year to go. Last year they even said they had years to go.

I also think the Mass Effect Shepard Trilogy Remastered will come out this year though, probably on or around N7 Day. Both as a way to keep the current fans sated by giving them the trilogy on the next gen consoles with some upgrades and a shiny new paintjob, and a way to get new potential fans into the universe before the new game. Like what 343 Industries did with Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

If they release a remastered version of the first three Mass Effect games I think I am going to look for the bunker I had made after Mass Effect 3, for these forums will go nuclear because the changes people want won't be there.

I don't think it's a question of if, but when. They've done multiple queries about what people would like in a remastered version of the Shepard Trilogy.

Its always possible, but when I see those questions I also always see the requests that make it seem they are going to be in trouble no matter which way they go from changing Mass Effect 1 to be more like the two sequels to redoing the ending to Mass Effect 3.

If they do decide to release something like a remaster what I expect is the base game working and if they had higher resolution assets those to be used such as The Last of Us and maybe DLC, but I really don't know about that for it will be an outside team working on it and not BioWare.

'Years' = 2 = 2016

Not saying its not 2017, but that I'm just more open to the possibility of that being a postponement date and not the ideal one.

I'd be a bit surprised of the trilogy remaster isn't released this holiday season. It should have MP too so that's a boost for that before the next game comes out.

I honestly don't think they're going to do many changes. I WANT them to do many changes, but I don't think they will. 'Remaster' has meant so little lately.

Aaryn Flynn asking on NeoGAF doesn't qualify as "multiple queries".

I'm getting the same feeling as well.  A REAL trailer, at least.

Gameplay would be an amazing bonus, similar to the 15 minute gameplays of Inquisition at E32014, although I know the chances of that are pretty slim.

Judging by the fact that Bioware STILL showed a small bit of Mass Effect information last year at E3, even though Inquisition was Bioware's main focus at the time, leads me to believe that Mass Effect will be the main game Bioware will focus on marketing from here on out, E32015 included.

To me its more of a misuse of the word, for a remaster has always meant to me going back to the original masters and being able to present it in a higher fidelity format.  Games normally would need a remake for by their design not over designed for the medium they are being presented in with some exceptions like what they were able to do with The Last of Us since they used a higher fidelity model used for cinematic scenes for the rest of the game.

To me, a remaster would be a large graphical upgrade to present day visual standards, as well as the fixing of any glitches or broken gameplay elements.  Maybe add some new content to give players a reason to replay the same game they have probably replayed several times.

As for the new Mass Effect, I imagine it to be somewhat similar in "play style" to Inquisition, but more in depth and refined.  It will definitely use the same game engine as Inquisition, as did the previous Dragon Age and Mass Effect games.  Each franchise still played and even visually appeared to be a bit different though, regardless of the same game engine being used.  I imagine that will still be the case.

Those desires to me mean more of a remake for you are altering the original content like when George Lucas change scenes in Star Wars for its release. A remaster as used before games is just going back to the source material which was recorded at a higher level then what was released to the general public and then releasing a higher quality.

Using another movie example, I was given Bond 50 a couple years ago.  Now they did go back and fix the damage and scrapes on the film because those masters had been used many times to release to the home video, but after those repairs they just released the film on Blu-Ray no additional content was created.

I could see that, but would a remaster essentially mean the same thing in the movie world as it would in the gaming world?  They are two different art forms.  People go to movies for story mostly, while people go to games for gameplay as well as story.  One would think gameplay would have to be retouched a bit in a remaster.  I could be wrong though, of course.

If they plan to make a remaster anytime soon I imagine they will talk about it at E3, although I'd rather them focus their time on stage talking about the next Mass Effect.

I would continuously pee my pants throughout the entirety of the 15 minute Mass Effect: Next live gameplay demo if they did show one at E3.  Seriously would.

I would then likely die afterwards for some related medical reason.

Yes and no.  To me a remaster just means you aren't adding new content or modifying the product and you are just releasing it for new technology.  Which I think can mean the same thing between both worlds, if you start adding in exceptions or other expectations when that word is used when someone uses it differently it can cause confusion and to a lesser extent mislead the customers in what you are doing.

Right now with my personal view, all I would expect from a BioWare remastered version of the Mass Effect games is a game that will work on the new consoles, the patches automatically applied, all the free DLC incorporated, and maybe some of the paid DLC.  When people start using the world remaster to indicate overhauled content such as new graphics or changing the ending to the game it becomes a remake or reboot and not the original product just remastered.  Again, its just how I look at it and maybe developers look at it differently then I do and there is nothing wrong, but for me its just the word being misused from my personal definition.

Tomb Raider: Anniversary is a remake of the original Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider (2013) is a reboot of the series.

Both are essentially new games.

Adding or even changing the odd bit of content would be more like a Director's or extended cut.

Graphics don't count for much in my book.

If there is a remaster, how easy would it be to update MEHEM? You'd have to remake the whole thing, right? I doubt there be enough demand for the effort that would require.

It might seem petty, but MEHEM plus modding to get Legion earlier make me pretty comfortable with ME1-3 currently. I'd still support a remaster though, if only for the sake of console players.

The game has been out for over three years now and Bioware seem more focused on the next game so hiring VA's to say a few lines is going to be expensive. Not to mention MEHEM isn't canon so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

And if they show us yet ANOTHER round of "Exciting concept art" i will be even more pissed.
