Ugh I want that booook. D:<

Jealous, in other words. ;D Thanks for the info, Reznore57!

Perhaps. However cory in DA:I does say it was black when they got there.

In Legacy he's just woken up so he's a bit confused.

Very true. But just cause it was black when they get there (perhaps), doesn't mean they weren't told to go there all the same! XD

Interesting nonetheless.

Every Old God is dead in the franchise except for 3 who their fate is uncertain.
Dumat= Fate uncertain defeated by The Warden of the Sentinel's Armor
Zazikale=Corin
Toth=Loris
Andhoral=Garahel
Urthemiel= 50/50%= non-mandatory (means that we will never see him again despite the fact that he can survive)
Razikale=  (i believe) is the Queen Dragon of the Silent grove, awakened with Maric,guarded by Yavana,who can be potentially stabbed by Alistair if he is a GW or a King.
Lusacan=Western approach dormant
8th old god=???
3 of them remains for  the achievement End of the world,I'm so excited

If Razikale and Lusacan are linked to Dirthamen and Falon'Din respectively, then we could be getting a dual Blight: these two elven gods were close comrades, so I imagine their dragon equivalents could be too. Maybe Draconis will also join in on the action and make it a three headed Blight!

Honestly I'd be perfectly fine with the Old Gods being the same type of beings as the elven gods or the forgotten ones or something new.  But I really hate the idea of them being the elven gods.  I don't want Thedas to come down to everything being about the elves and I would like to interact with an entity with a different perspective on ancient Thedas.

I did read it, and your theory is certainly interesting and plausible *if* those two dark shapes are indeed ravens, though to me they look more like Corypheus' dark hands grasping the orb (both with four fingers and a thumb: the right hand is down with the knuckles exposed while the left hand is up with the palm exposed). Dumat is also explicitly linked to Mythal (http://dragonage.wik...ation:_Silentir) as well as Elgar'nan (as you mentioned) so it could be any of them.

Everything at this point regarding the nature of the gods is speculation with different bodies of evidence and different interpretations supporting different conclusions: my comment was proposing one of many potential scenarios in future games based on what I believe to be most likely (though I still expect most of the theories that I subscribe to to be proven wrong in future instalments).

This, to me, is interesting just as it could be one killer setup for the finale of the series, and a great way to really tie up all of these lore-based loose ends. A big reveal with some big battles, you know?

Though I still think if anyone, Draconis would be Mythal, so I would hope not! XD

Yeah, Draconis could definitely be Mythal: the constellation resembles a serpent which is what Mythal transformed into to battle the tainted Andruil. Though Mythal = Dumat is also certainly possible.

Plus it being stricken from record, and Mythal being murdered, yep. So many things are possible, really, this is all just guesswork until Bioware actually starts confirming things. Fun guesswork, though! XD

But why would Draconis be struck from the records of the Old Gods?

This is the City of Chains heraldry.

City of CHains

It is a symbol of rebellion given form from the Slaves when Kirkwall was under control of Teviniter. Which leads me to believe that Draconis is actually of Fen'Harel/Solas because of the whole "freedom for the slaves" thing he's got going.

If the Andraste/Flemeth/Mythal holds any weight then DUMAT is Mythal. If only because Andraste was born the same year of Dumat's demise. And then the whole Mythal mosiac at the Temple...blah blah.

Andraste's birth date is contested.

But Mythal being Dumat doesn't really make sense since her fate wasn't the same as that which befell the other seven members of the pantheon.

I would guess that perhaps Mythal and Elgar'nan could still be on even terms (this would assume he wasn't the one to betray her, of course), making Elgar'nan a player via Dumat and the Maker (or what Andraste claimed was the Maker, anyway), and Andraste a servant or host of Mythal? Stretching it, though, I know. XD Kinda spit balling, here.

The chains heraldry notion is interesting, though. Very interesting, indeed. Although, wouldn't it be a more likely representation of Andoral?

As for why Draconis would be struck, it could have to do with her murder or betrayal, if it and Mythal were one and the same. *shrugs*

Wait..maybe Draconis is Solas/Fen'herld.

I really like all of the backstory and lore of the Old Gods and the Tevinter cults, reminds me of the Dragon Gods and the ancient Dragonian ruins from Chrono Cross.

Fen is a Forgotten One (they created and mastered the Blight) and I think that he wake up thanks to the Saarebas playing with his mask; the Old Gods however are victims of the Blight if Old Gods=Great Dragons, then maybe Draconis was the dying dragon that Calenhad killed while Razikale would be the Queen of Dragons

Well, the elven "gods" aren't really gods if Solas is anything to go by, so it wouldn't really come down to the elves so much as it would come down to a group of megalomaniacs being really good at shapeshifting. Though it's just as plausible they're either dragon abominations (like a certain DLC boss) or the Forgotten Ones (so elven "gods", but not the ones that are worshiped).

I don't trust Solas very much about this matter. He, as a god himself, probably has a higher view of what a god should look like. Certainly him not considering himself a god is no great surprise is it? To the elves they were certainly gods, and I guess to us depending on your perspective.

1. That horribly low res.

2. You can still clearly see one of those hands doesn't have fingers, but it does have a wing.
