So I was wondering... Orlesian beds I and II look like this in Skyhold (images taken from DragonAge wikia):

Spoiler

While in Val Royeaux bourique and in the Winter Palace they look like this:

Spoiler

At first i thought that was a bug in my game, but after a small research i figured out that this is true for everybody. At a time developers had more pressing matters and more serious problems to solve, but I thought, that these beds will be fixed eventually. As time went by and nobody seems to be concerned about this issue, so I began to wonder, whether this is a feature or really a bug?

There are several much more game-breaking issues for the devs to deal with that something aesthetic and optional like this is probably way down on the bottom of the to-fix list.

I don't really see what the issue is. Are you complaining that the Skyhold beds have alternating frames compared to the Winter Palace beds? This whole thing is so minor that I can't fathom why it would even bother being mentioned.

Well...maybe the Queen of Orlais can afford custom beds while the Inquisitor can't? Or maybe she didn't buy her beds at the general bed store :P I doubt it's a glitch.

Pointless topic..............it has no effect on gameplay and is not a suggestion that would enhance it either.

Yeah, I noticed the 'no canoby' and the 'wrong canoby' thing + the missing pillows almost from the start. Still, I always choose the dwarven bed, so I'm not really bothered by the issue. I doubt they're going to do anything about it but I admit that the red Orlais bed would look good with the right canoby.

Well, a couple of romance scenes happens in the bedroom (and Dorian's in the bed itself), so it does affect a little bit. Also, if you're recording game clips for vids, then the wrong kind of bed will stick out from the background like a sore thumb. It's a small thing to nitpick but still...

That may not be important to you, but it is important to others. Asking for something like this isn't going to ruin your gameplay experience, regardless of whether or not the devs look at it. I doubt they will, since I don't think it's a glitch, but everyone is allowed to make a comment here on the forums about whatever they wish that's related to DAI.

I agree. If it's in the game, then OP has every right to talk or even complain about it. It's no more weird than some players complaining about the small puddles at the Skyhold courtyard. I don't see those puddles having any effect on the gameplay, either.

Try asking modders if it's possible to retexture the canopy so it fits with the bed.

They are like the Inquisitor's Edition, I guess... some parts broke off during transport.

I think that this was probably an intentional design, probably so that there exists some variety in the world when you go into people's houses and such.

I'm still sad that my favorite bed -- Orlais III -- is untidy (although this IS fun for the romance scene -- and has no pillows (there are pillows on the bed in various villas).

It's not about texture. The whole design of both canopies is specific to the beds, making them look bad when mixed up and no amount of retexturing is going to fix it. That is BW's job to fix, not modders. Thank goodness I only like the darwen bed, so I don't need to settle for the other ones.

It was a little disappointing to see that the Orlais beds were not quite as advertised, but I took it as a bit of a joke, like "Well that will teach you to believe everything you see in the advertisements."  I made a game of it and went out and bought a new one once in a while to mess around with LI's imagined decorating sensibilities.  Re-doing the decorations got to be kinda fun.  I could picture Cass throwing up her hands in frustration at the senseless frivolity and had great fun with it.  It won't work if you've got your heart set on one model, but you can still have fun around it.

Tbh I think most of those beds are too pompous (in general, not just the Orlesians) so I mostly choose one of the Free Marches beds, or the Avvar bed.

I wished there were a Dalish bed too, but I think they sleep on the floor.

I love the Free Marches II bed (with that glorious red canopy) but was alarmed during one of Iron Bull's scenes when my screen would suddenly go all red. At first I thought my video card was freaking out on me, until I replayed the scene on a hunch with a different bed and realized it was the camera angle trying to compensate for the presence of the canopy curtain.  HAHAHA
