^ You still don't understand what subjectivity means, do you?  I read all that stuff the last time you posted it.  And the time before that.  I get it Sinful - you're a seasoned gamer.  So am I, remember.  Neither of us is a brand fanboy, but we have differing views about gamepads and controllers.  You can't use the PS3 one, and I can't use the xbox one.  But at least the PS3 one can be accessorized to make it better, which I doubt you've tried.

 

You are not the only person who feels the way you do, and I am not the only person who feels the way I do.  There is no right.  No better.  Only different.

You know this is a good idea.  I had a spare mouse button on my "fancy" mouse that I was trying to use for medigel but I think this will feel a lot more natural.  Reloading cancelling definitely feels awkward and I think this will help.  Thanks.

 

I particularly map the left Alt key to medigel and I use my thumb to press it - it becomes very natural after a while. I also map a Ops pack to a thumb button on my mouse, which helps a lot.

I guess, if that's your thing, but the issue is that "Mileage may vary" is a very real thing here. People complain about Sony's controllers, people complain about Microsoft's controllers, then PC people come in and people say "well mouse and keyboard this" and blah blah blah. It's dumb.

The new gamepad sucks. Has the exact analog stick issues as the PS3 gamepads. Too bad too, as playing the Mattock with Turbo Fire was super sweet, only too bad I was aiming like nat in the hat totally ****** drunk. Back to the PS4 gamepad, as at least it's got the Analog Sticks right.

 

@Grunt; I want Sony to make better gamepads since they are still here to stay with another main contender console. And if that means repeating myself to spread awareness, then so be it. But looks like most Sony fanboys are finally admitting the PS3 gamepads are trash by throwing them in the trash in replacement of the PS4 gamepad. Can't believe that's what it took diehard Sony fans to admit the PS3 gamepads suck, but I'll take any progress on this matter.

 

I also never noticed how flawed the PS3 Analog Sticks where until I played ME3mp (especially 1 shot sniping). Because switching back and forth between both consoles Dark Soul series, I never noticed the PS3 Analog Stick issue since precise aiming ain't required in those games. But precise aiming is very important in ME3mp, unless you one of those pink gun lovers where your always aiming at the floor.

PC is EZ. Don't believe me? Try to play Counter Strike on a console without throwing it out of the nearest airlock within 5 minutes.

How about I provide some scientific evidence that the PS4/360 analog sticks are better then the PS3 ones. I'll even keep it short so it's less confusing. When you switch from PS4 to PS3, you over-aim with the PS3 gamepad making it seem like the curser speed set in option is set to be much faster, but is not.

 

So in conclusion, it's easier to be precise with the PS4/360 analog sticks. But since I brought science and logic into the picture on a BSN, I foresee this topic going places before the lock.

That makes a lot of sense actually, since when you're reloading, you're not running.  And when you're running, you want to be able to Ops.

I see my thread has been stolen from me...  As a side note I may try that left alt setup as well.  I'm starting to get the hang of it but doing my muscle memory hasn't adapted to doing two things at once just yet so I have occasional brain farts when trying to strafe and reload and things like that.

 

To one of the earlier guys the only reason I "switched" is because I recently bought a mechanical keyboard and I'd purchased mass effect 3 for like $10 on black Friday (just cause it was there) so I figured I might as well give it a go.  Still sad to be playing bronze and missing keys with my fingers but I'm hoping to be able to play silver in a few days lol. I really miss the credits you get for gold/platinum...

In all seriousness if you have experience playing Gold or Plat on console, then you are OP for Bronze on PC. Take your Human Adept or Engineer onto PC Silver. Even though you only have the Predator pistol... You'll mostly cast powers anyway.

Trust me, if I had any evidence that the PS3 analog sticks were better then the PS4/360 ones, I'd be praising the PS3 analog sticks on this day. Even if I only just now I'd learn new evidence that PS3 ones are actually better, I'd change my stance on this instantly. I don't like spreading lies and false information. It's an OCD behaviour thing with me.

 

But there's just too much evidence against the PS3 analog sticks & gamepad in general. I even remember on another forum where someone posted a reminder that the latest Afterburner XBLA/PSN game was about to be taken off. One guy I knew well, and who even loves the PS3 gamepad, bought the PS3 version. I told him he should of bought the 360 version because of more precise analog stick aiming. The next reply was after him trying the 360 demo and he replied "Doh. I should of bought the 360 version." True story.

 

I even did a test on a non-gamer by handing him both 360 and PS3 gamepads just to feel without any gaming and asked him which one he likes better? He said PS3. I was like "So this is why so many like the PS3 gamepad? No gaming experience? That makes sense."   Ok, this last one was harsh, but my other OCD behaviour is to speak my mind. So don't take it so hard, BSN. And especially Grunt. As these are just my honest personal thoughts on this matter from a person who's obsessed with gamepad perfection & who has a ton of gamepads in search of the perfect gamepads since NES era.

I love you man.  You drive me nuts sometimes, but I love you.  I am overwhelmed by the science.  The science cannot be refuted!!!  And don't worry, I don't take anything I read here seriously
