I think squadmates in SP should revive the player if possible.

Or is relaoding the last autosave that immersive?

Yeah I suppose they were worried about making the game easier, or maybe they never really thought about it.  I think the only game I have played where your AI squadmates could ress you was Republic Commando.

Reloading is the penalty for not doing it right. I mean, you can't actually kill the player, but you can force him to sit through a loading screen. :) Its why I hate dying: loading screen hell.

It's also possible in Xenoblade, but it doesn't always work there either. I liked it in that game, but I think ME is doing fine without.

Dying is also only really a problem on the higher difficulties imo.

Well, for it to work well you'll have to give players control over other squadmates as in Dragon Age. Otherwise, I'd rather reload right away than to watch squadmates trying to revive me on Insanity and dying...

Keyword "players". Squadmate AI is much dumber :D Imagine a pug with no experience whatsoever trying to revive your character :P

Don't get me wrong, it'll work a few times, but most of the time it'll be useless :)

Hehe, you mean like Vega rather shooting the Reegar into thin air instead of reviving me?

I don't think it should be on SP because I already find the game very easy, if the squadmates could revive Shepard it would pose almost no challenge.

In Prince of Persia 2008, the prince doesn't die. Elika, your sidekick always saves you. In Ghost Recon Future Soldier, your teammates can save you too, before you bleed out, similar to ME multiplayer.

You mean like in the Gears of War games?

Personally, I like the system as is. Although it is a pain to restart/reload if you screw up, but that's your (the players) fault and that's the penalty you get.

lol That made me chuckle.
