I have him specced like this.

Still working on my weapons manifest, but this build works quite well for silver. Just wondering what gear bonus would be best for him, as I'm not too clear on all the finer details.

Well for one, my black widow is still at level 1. Not for a lack of trying to upgrade it though. Also, going more for a pistol/smg build here.

If you want to spec into HG, might as well max it out... Build

I don't know if you have Raider, but if you do then this is a really good build. Raider and HG are both deadly in close range and DI has the speed to get close.

Recharge speed on RM isn't necessary as you can use cloak to override it's cooldown by casting the mine from cloak.

HG can be skipped if going for a sniper build - Build

Not sure what level your valiant is at, but you can use any sniper rifle. I like Valiant the most on him.

These are the builds I use. Depending on what equipment/gear you have at your disposal, they may vary. In the first build, grenade capacity V can be replaced with shock trooper if you don't have the former. AP, disruptor and incendiary are viable alternatives for both builds but I like warp the most.

Are you planning on spamming recon mine detonations?

An Arc Pistol build I am using. I don't normally spec into Homin' 'Nades, and you can choose to not if you like.

I use this. If I Claymore I take weapon damage and one less rank Homing Grenade. I also will opt for a Power Amp vs Adrenaline when the mood strikes me when I run out of AM III

Tried the sniper build, and I am very hit or miss with it. To the point where I'll leave it to another kit to be my sniper. And I have all the equipment slot and maxed out on all of them. And I prefer medium to long range combat over getting up close. Rarely goes well for me. And I only spec into HG because I can't really justify the 6th rank of TC. Very little luck with snipers and his powers don't trigger cool down from TC to begin with.

Combined with Collector SMG getting a ton of headshots and HG giving me a fallback option? Yeah. The whole point is to kill things faster.

Just yanking your chain because I've got issues with the constant detonations giving me headaches. Have you got a link to your inventory? I can't help but feel you've got better options than the CSMG. The Arc pistol for example would be better if headshots are your thing.

I'd take TC to 6b and put a sniper rifle on him - you're taking 4a and 6b in Recon Mine which implies you'll mostly be using it almost like a ranged Geth Scanner with debuff.

And they need to be speedlaced :)  Since this thread has come up, I have a question to add: if one takes RM rank 6b Invasive Scan, does the 25% damage buff apply to the detonation of RM?

The effect lasts for a couple of seconds after detonation so I think the enemies do take 25% more damage from invasive scan detonation. But 6a option is much better if you want to spam Recon Mine because there are lots of armored enemies on Gold/Platinum and that 75% additional damage to armor helps a lot.

Thank you for the answer, it's interesting to know. I actually have been speccing 6a in RM for that very reason, but I was curious because everyone else went the other way. I also go 4a in Fitness because his melee is totally awesome and the extra shields at 4b make no difference I can see. Here's my present build:

http://kalence.drupa...!34N55334!E.DGA

I specced out of HGs even though they are awesome on a tankier character, because I found the slow animation was getting me downed more often than without them. I like the CSR on him, with the CSMG as a spare. They seem to fit his extremely rapid style well, and with the CSR there's no temptation to stay out of cover and take a second shot, it's one or two pulses and then run. And the hipfire penalty is low, also a good thing for someone who plays fast and furious. The combination also means he's the one Drell who cares nothing about ammo runs at all.

Also, another question: why is it that deploying RM out of cloak triggers a cooldown (as expected), but doing it under cloak doesn't break cloak when most other powers do?

Bonus power on his cloak is bugged u get bonus power on him even if you choose sniper damage. So there is absolutely no reason to choose bonus power with him or even invest more than 4 points in cloak if you are not using a sniper rifle.

So it's bonus power being active even though I didn't spec it. Thanks again for explaining. :)

@op: Geth Scanner, it has good synergy with Recon mine, also it's better to shoot through walls as a squishy character.

Also you'd better give him a real weapon like BW or Claymore, if you use any sniper, skip nades and put points into TC sniper damage (either way I don't find homing nade any useful on him).

Homing nades are pretty good for a shotgun build. Stagger and CC is always good.

^I can imagine that, but my Drell is mostly a sniping assassin and occasionally a street sweeper, and I'm too lazy to burn a respec card on him when I'm about to wield a shotgun, usually one Claymore shot to the head is enough :D.

:P understandable. But you're not always 1vs1 babby. Especially when Geth or Goons swarm you. It's nice to have some of their medicine and feed it back to them
