Just what support do you have for this apparent inalienable fact she's "playing" the victim? As I've said, the evidence as I've seen it is that her nutter ex had ravings and postings about her online that she was some sort of terrible person, and then some time after she made a blog post about her experience in the industry, she was faced with a deluge of rape threats. 

 

That makes her a victim. None of these things are justified, they're unacceptable no matter what her behaviour might have been, and the idea that she's somehow profiting from this (what's the profit? she gets paid by the rape threat?) is, to put it mildly, hard to believe.

I've learned a lot though from GG. I knew before hand that the VG media was pretty much corrupt, figured that out when C&C Tiberian Sun got released and PCPlayer gave it 10/10. Not to mention the CoD series, ME 3 ending fiasco, DA 2 getting high reviews, Rome 2, and every other hyped up AAA game that turned out to be either mediocre or just buggy as hell with limited features, yet still all got 9/10.

 

What I didn't know was how much the pink haired fairy SJW crowd had infested it. You gotta love how they're almost all white hipsters and accuse anyone not following their narrative to be a white cis male, and if you're not you're internalized something something.

Zoe Quinn has shown time and time again that she is a horrible person.

From orchestrating her own "harassment" on Wizardchan, to using Robin Williams' suicide to promote her game, to the "revenge porn" lie about Eron, to her Helldump affiliation (a dox and harassment subforum on SomethingAwful), to her encouraging death threats against her on twitter, etc etc etc.

Of course it goes without saying that any threats against her are absolutely out of line and unacceptable. I abhor anyone resorting to death threats and genuine harassment regardless of motive. But she is a very malicious person who is willing to lie about anything for self-interest and there's mountains of evidence to prove it. So the idea that media publications went to war with it's audience waving the flag of feminism for this woman is bizarre. The entire story would've died down in 2 weeks had Grayson been stood down for his ethical violation and if people were allowed to discuss the scandal in the first place. Instead they doubled down, engaged in mass censorship and soon after we got the "Gamers are Dead" articles. The rest is history.

It's a shame though, I didn't actually expect there to be vigourous debate on GG. Although I'm pro-GG, it's not something I keep tabs on anymore. I didn't even realise there was a GG meetup in the first place until I heard about the Bomb Threat.

I just wanted an excuse to post Dank Chu Maymays and expose SJW/Media hypocrisy. C'est la vie.

I'm aware of the wiki's slant. I've known of GG and everything surrounding it since its inception. That doesn't mean I'm going to suddenly pick a side and run with it.

 

I'm perfectly fine staying out of this fight and pitching in here and there to calm things down or clarify a few things. What I'm not about to do is stoke this fire.

 

If it counts for anything, I'm fully behind people who are willing to talk about the issues civilly and intelligently with people on multiple sides, and I've seen more of that type of person on the pro-GG side than anti-GG side(compare Christina Hoff Sommers to a Zoe Quinn/Anita Sarkeesian/the other notable names). I also trust more people on the pro-GG side than anti-GG side, as I've already clarified that I don't think Anita is a great representative for the people who support her.

 

But you're still not gonna catch me using these hashtags to make a point on social media.

I don't see how calling in a bomb threat to an innocent establishment holding a pro-GG meet up somehow makes the anti-GG side look better. In any way.

 

However given past events and loud mouths I'm inclined to believe that someone on the anti-GG side might have called in said threat as a way to-

 

A. prevent the meet

and

B. "give them a taste of their own medicine"

 

and if so, it makes me lose sympathy for the anti-GG side anyhow. If you start doing to others what the trolls did to you, you are just as bad as the worst offenders on either side and your voice is lost to me.
