Ha, equality of outcome is not the same as equality of opportunity.

You do not have the the right to equality of outcome, which is precisely what feminists and their ilk want. Too stupid or lazy to achieve your goals in life, protest and cry sexism so people will stack the proverbial deck in your favour. It's Marxist wealth distribution in all but name.

Much like the "there are no winners" sentiment, In life you're treated according to your station and performance. Is that unfair because you're **** at something or lack the skill? Maybe, but people need to toughen up and take things like a man, accepting that what they want is special treatment, not equality.

What I see are feckless sycophants who want all the benefits "equality" brings, but none of the responsibilities and problems that come with it.

I can't speak to the United States, but this dialogue of opportunity and outcome that seems to infect their equality jurisprudence is certainly not the only way to address the topic.

You can't guarantee equal outcomes. That's nonsense. People aren't equal. But talking about opportunity is equally nonsensical, because people don't start from equivalent positions.

What people want - at a policy level - is to come up with ways to address inequalities in a cost-effective way that makes real progress in reducing the root causes of that inequality in the future.

All government is resource allocation and wealth distribution. That's inherent in the nature of government. Talking about "Marxist" wealth distribution in this context is nonsensical - no one is saying that all property should be publicly owned.

The idea that there aren't inherent advantages that exist through accident of birth is stupid. This includes ability. We all have to decide what kinds of notional inequality we think is OK.

We can certainly have a real debate on these issues if you want, but the chest-thumping post you put together isn't even an expression of an idea.

What does it even mean to talk about the "benefits" of equality? What are the "costs"? These are nonsense terms.

Ha, the only reason Eron is seen as the devil incarnate is because of his unjust restraining order. One side is allowed to freely slander him, meanwhile he cant defend himself due to the limitations put on his free speech rights.

The restraining order is lawfully obtained. As far as I can tell he either hasn't appealed or exhausted his appeal. Unless you think restraining orders by their nature are somehow unjust, what precisely is the issue with him being slapped with one? The evidence as I read it was pretty overwhelming in justifying it.

I was largely referring to the portion of his restraining order where he cant tell his story of abuse. It would be understandable if it outlined what he cant talk about or how. But it's written so he cant tell anyone anything from his pov. Not to mention, during the original hearing, he was not even allowed to address the court properly.

Okay, first up, you've misread my post. Even in a world that's neutral to every single bit of IRL context, there's a difference between a member of an underrepresented group sleeping around for advancement with members of the majoritarian group and the reverse. That's why the analogy is non-functional.

That's where you're wrong. The social dynamics are entirely different. It's why being an outsider isn't the same as being an insider. We're not talking about some moral point here: as a basic social and evolutionary fact we don't behave the same when we're the outgroup rather than the ingroup.

I'm all for notions of equality (we all are) but precisely the place where left-wing equality theories fail is in their not recognising such basic social facts.
