The funny thing about the Roswell story is that supposedly a UFO crashed in a thunderstorm. So you are telling me that a species that can design a space ship capable of interstellar travel, can't build one that can survive a lightning strike? Commercial jets get struck by lightning all the time and usually without incident.

I think the only thing that crashed at Roswell was a weather balloon. That's a lot more boring than aliens from outer space though, so people let their imaginations run wild.

I find it weird how people compare another civilization's technology with ours. They might be superior in many things (in human perception) but may be inferior in many things as well (in human perception). That's the point of calling them 'alien'.

Well we expect that Alien civilizations have some technology and basic common sense like having antibiotics and a sensible defense against the enviromental hazards like lightning, cold and heat from various sources

I'm not sure, I'd have to consult Cassandra Saturn to get a more conclusive view on the matter.

Or putting it another way, what kind of moron decides to land on a planet with completely foreign germs, bacteria and viruses... then decides to walk around naked? What was the thinking before they invaded?

"Look, we've got little room in these things, now we have to decide... do we take the death ray or the space suits?"

Although I suppose that this kind of incompetent leadership and suicidal recklessness, as well as a complete and utter lack of preperation for the dangers of space exploration, might have served as inspiration for the first couple seasons of Enterprise?

anyone else find it funny how eliens travel billions of light years tust to shove a buttplug up some Alabama redneks arse?

Or making crop circles...

*Snip*

Maybe it's used to confuse potential spies?

I know right? Who knows what else the US government is hiding from us, obviously they had some sort of top secret death ray capable of taking down Alien ambassador ships, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to shoot the spaceship down.

No, Archimedes is the one with a death ray. Don't you watch Mythbusters?

Gawd...

Biologists study the scat of animals to learn about their diet and habits. Because the scat of some species is hard to collect, recently they've taken to collecting the sample directly from the source. Guess how they do that? They usually do this after they've captured the animal and dragged it to a vehicle to tag, measure and sample. This active collection is a fairly recent practice, coming long after claims of probing....make of that what you will. ;)

Not only ruined our chances. We took those Galactic Fed emissaries hostage and have kept them for over 60 years. The GF now has no choice but to vaporize our entire planet in a few months or so.

A Galactic Federation? You mean like the Council? In that case, screw that!

(Yeah yeah I know the Council is more like the UNSC)

could be worse, they could actually learn and "adapt" to our species by basing our culture off of social media standards and such. scary.
