A lot of this is coming down to play style it seems. Ttk versus a lot of moons is the same ttk on most bosses favors warp rounds but if you just want to strip shield then fire and forget with dark channel on primes then I guess I could see phasic being better.

Personally I don't think Phasics have much use outside of high damage snipers (BW, Javelin, Widow, Mantis, Valient) and the Crusader and Executioner in order to ignore shield gate and OHK enemies. Any other time you want extra shield damage from ammo go with Disruptor so you can get tech bursts as well.

... unless you're using a biotic explosion build, where the Tech Bursts would just be undesired interference, and the BEs would erase the priming that gets you the extra Warp Ammo damage bonus anyway.

The point of my post wasn't to encourage distruptor ammo on biotic kits, but to explain the niche that phasic ammo fills quite nicely. I don't think phasic ammo has a place on any biotic kit honestly. I'd take warp, incendiary, ap,and drill over it, unless I'm using one of the weapons I mentioned in my post.

Biotic kits with throw may be the exception to the rule  :D  Double throw = profit.

Fair enough - I'm just explaining another situation where Phasics are useful.  Not so much against Reapers or Collectors, where Warp Ammo is the choice all-day, every day.  But against Cerberus or especially Geth, Phasics can be as effective as Warp Ammo on a BE-based build.

The answer to the questions the OP is asking is just one: leave the goddamned bosses alone until they're the only thing left. Ta-da! Everything's solved, now you can go back at using warp ammo on the huntress.

QFT

for 3 of the factions, there's no reason to go after the bullet sponges until you've no melons left to asplode, and for geth you should nuke all primes on sight anyway.

I don't entirely agree about always leaving bosses for last. Oftentimes you can prime the boss with DC, detonate with Warp, and the BE will mangle or kill nearby mooks. You see this a lot vs. Atlases accompanied by Engineers or Dragoons.

Sure, you can use them as a combo platform if it's useful, no hurt in doing that. But after you're done with the mooks you should just move on, unless for some reason the boss is already heavily damaged.
