Sure, that movie was fairly entertaining, but it's still the same default "action hero" Tom Cruise that I assume StreetMagic was referring to 
I'm not saying I don't like those movies myself - for instance, I think Mission: Impossible and Minority Report are pretty neat as well.

My favorite part of his is Lestat....and that's probably him at his most unlikable. He plays pretty damn good villains. Tropic Thunder might come second.

I liked Oblivion as well, even though the movie was a little goofy.
Tom Cruise is a good actor, he's just a brainwashed crazy man in his private life.
As cool as that would be, he'd probably sooner tear apart the Mass Effect series for all it gets wrong ...
