What you don't mention is that this entity was supposedly Elgar'nan's father (one of Elgar'nan's titles is He Who Overthrew His Father) and that the myth itself mentions also his mother - the land.

I'd say that more than a mysterious 8th god (which one was Fen'Harel then? 9th?), this story suggests that there might have been a possible earlier generation of gods - sort of like in many European or ancient middle-Eastern myths. In fact, there are many things about ancient elven lore that reminds me of Greek mythology.

And in Greek myths gods weren't eternal - each generation of new gods replaced the one that existed before: Zeus and his ilk defeated Cronus, who himself cast down his father, Uranus.

Might be that in Thedas we'll see similar conflict between generations of godly figures, each replacing another - possibly after some sort of massive conflict, perhaps similar to Titanomachy.

1. I would not say Solas was part of the forgotten ones/old god or what ever...Rememer the dread wolf does not take sides.

2. Also, note in the comics Silent grove it's stated world was once ruled by dragons before the fade. Once the fade came up....Elves and their so called gods. Now it's the age of man.

Before the Veil, not the Fade, actually. I have a feeling the Fade was always kind of a thing. XD Nitpick! Sorry.

As for Draconis, there seems to be little connecting Elgar'nan and the system we see there. It could happen, but. I dunno. I'd be more likely to buy Mythal in that role, given her murder, and the symbolism involved with Draconis itself. Whole serpentine aspect, you know?

1. Fen'Harel has been described as being "kin to the gods of the People" - so despite being viewed as one of their own among Forgotten Ones, he was still an elvhen god, recognized among the ancients. Besides - the 8th god in Elven Panthen would be Ghilan'nain (called the youngest of the gods), and not this forgotten entity.

2. We don't really know what "dragons once ruled the world" really means (especially that Mythal - the chief deity of elven pantheon - is herself very 'dragon-y')... or what happened that they don't rule anymore - could it be because of the fight between Elgar'nan and the aforementioned fight?

The game suggests that the constellation closer connected with Mythal is Silentir -> http://dragonage.wik...tion:_Silentir
