The Skywatcher. Should be big fun.
I will say this; my niece is slightly...perturbed, that there's still no female archers. To quote her, "Why do only the guys get bows? That's utter bulls**t."
I actually think she was holding back...
haha brilliant

Ask her if it counts that Isabela has a hand crossbow.
I'll get her boyfriend to ask her...and, yes, I'm passing the buck. Unabashedly and utterly without shame.

My buddy Zundar is looking forward to Isabela. The other two members of our weekend group have no preference/don't really know much about the characters.
So if the trend holds true from the ME3MP days, my Dragon Chest will contain the Isabela, Zundar will get Skwatcher and our other party members will get Zither!
Thank the Maker we can craft now.

Doh! I'm sorry. At least it's just a game.
Definitely going to wait until tomorrow when I can download DLC and check the chest before playing then, because I am excited as heck too. So either stay up until 5am or just DL tomorrow after work?

I'm really looking forward to ZITHER! but got Skywatcher in the dragon chest, crafted Isabela (didn't have enough materials for Z since I've been trying to unlock all the armors recently... foolish) and they are both really fun to play. Let me just say this... Isabela is A BEAST. I haven't taken any damage with her yet.
Skywatcher was downed twice in a row by a Gurn (ripped through him like he was tissue paper) but when his teammates revived him he was quickly up on his feat and super stoked to be alive and able to fight another day
I like him!

I actually think she was holding back...
Drawing the bow takes strength. Males stereotypically have more strength. Wielding daggers takes more agility than strength.
This is why females do daggers, males do bows.
Sure there are exceptions as in everything, but Inquisition agents play by stereotypes. Think of it this way: There's 10 would-be bowman agents, half of which are male and half are female. Only half of them get taken to the next part of the training. Now there is a chance that half is all females but the odds are against it. Out of those that get to next level only two are chosen (Archer and Hunter) so the odds are diminished even more.
That said I wouldn't mind a female bow wielder, but I'm not against the current way.
Inquisition agents are individuals with names, uniques. This makes it so that the majority of the bowmen are not male, just those two dudes in the Inquisition happen to be.
Besides, not counting the new DLC the genders are even. Heck, even with the DLC I think they are. The bard character looks androgynous.
Now that I think of it there are both female and make barrier mages, damage mages, sword and board warriors and two-hander wielding warriors. Bows and daggers don't follow the same route, but that's still the only thing in which BW breaks the pattern so it shouldn't be a biggie.
Edit: To answer the original question, Isabela for me partly because of the bounce and partly because I'm pro-rogue person.

Zither. From what I have seen so far he's a good contender for being a mage class I might like to play (not fond of the original 4).

Isabella. Be warned, do not take evasion though. If she back flips she will knock herself out with the boobies.

It sounds like the Avvar = pre-buffed Katari. I was hoping he would be a bit tankier, still looking forward to trying him out though
Avvar is definitely less guard capable than katari, but he certainly seems to have damage reduction going for him. It seems he can get up to 85%, while simultaneously reducing enemy damage (like others) by up to ~50% through crippling blows. Of course, only an actual combat scenario would test whether its effective or not

But does he have an ability like charging bull? I.e. to generate guard while attacking?

1) Isabela's boobs.
2) Skywatcher.
I don't care at all about the mandolino guy.
Yesterday I said that and guess what I get from the dragon chest?
I hate myself. And RNG.

Yes, in fact he does have a variation of charging bull. It deals ice damage, has an extra downward hit at the end, allows him to choose ice proc (related to another one of his skills), generates 10% guard per enemy hit, and knocks enemies down. 15 second cooldown time, reduced to 10 seconds after upgrading.
He also has a warcry like ability where he increases his damage output, damage resistance, and when upgraded gains 10% guard, for each nearby enemy up to 5 stacks. I dont remember the cooldown, but its far from a spam ability.
And I think thats all the guard he gets. Other than that its just more damage resistance.

30s cooldown.
He also has block and slash.

Heh, thanks. The new characters are all awesome so that takes some of the sting out of it.

That's hilarious. She uses a 90 lb pull compound bow IRL, and she could probably pull more because her technique is really clean using a backhand draw. A longbow typically had a pull weight of 90 to 100 lbs.

Played a pug on threatening as a lvl1 avvar. Biiiiiiig mistake. The charge is not as strong as the katari charge and doesn't seem to generate much guard. Also it feels harder to "steer" than charging bull. Looking at his skill tree it looks super cool. Different moves give you an element and then you use the element on the next move to modify it. Looks like you could have different skill rotations to do different effects.
