The DA fan update video mentioned new thrones but not that they were related to DA:O and DA2, are they the same thrones or are there two sets of new thrones?
It'll be interesting to see how much Spirit Blade changes. The increased mana cost will make it harder to spam. Will that be for SP and MP or just MP?

"'Spirit Blade' no longer applies a damage bonus in both play modes."
So does this mean Spirit Blade will only do base weapon damage instead of 300 percent?

That... would really suck. I hope they don't nerf it too much.

Whats the deal with amulets of power. I get plenty of them playing PS4, but I notice a number of people seem not to get any or many?
Are you finding any in containers? As of patch 6 (and now patch 7 it seems) the ones you're supposed to find in containers are missing. You can still get the ones that are quest or war table rewards though.

Could someone explain this one to me? I have captured all the keeps but I still don't have the crown. I have checked the wiki and it does not mention anything about the inquisition banner crown being on the storm coast. If it is on the storm coast, where is it located?

^ This. Not only does Spirit Blade now cost more to use, but it no longer applies +200% bonus dmg to barrier and +400% bonus dmg to guard. So, only the 300% weapon damage still applies - at least until Bioware decides to reduce it to 100%. This is the 2nd time Spirit Blade has been nerfed. IIRC, the first nerf removed Spirit Blade's ability to cause combo detonations among other things. Granted KE might be a bit OP, but continuing to nerf a class in Single Player when there are still outstanding issues makes little sense. Since the Patch 7 notes refer specifically to Arcane Warrior (not Knight Enchanter), I can only conclude that a bunch of people must have complained about Arcane Warrior being OP in Multiplayer Mode. Bioware then decided to further nerf Spirit Blade in both modes. Why the nerf wasn't only done to MP Mode is beyond me. Fortunately for me, I have already killed all of the Dragons except for the one in Jaws of Hakkon DLC since I play on Xbox 360 and therefore don't have that DLC available yet.
Also, I might have missed it in the Patch notes but I didn't see anything about the auto switch bug introduced in Patch 5 (at least on Xbox 360). This bug causes the camera to no longer auto focus on a character when you switch to that character. This is especially frustrating during combat and was not resolved in Patch 6. I will install Patch 7 and see if this issue has been resolved. If not, then shame on Bioware for prioritizing additional balance changes (aka nerfs) over fixing an actual bug.
EDIT: I just tested and Patch 7 did not resolve the bug introduced in Patch 5 (at least on Xbox 360) that causes the camera to no longer focus / switch to a character when you change to that character while using the Tactical camera.

Seriously, nerfing the spirit blade damage kills the pourpose of knight enchanter. How are we supposed to keep barriers up if our attack barely does damage? Might as well remove the specialization from the game as it becomes useless.

Once The Black Emporium is released tomorrow (05/05/2015), I will see if there is any armor there worth getting for my KE. I have about 70k gold and a decent amount of crafting materials already that I have been saving up for TBE. Also, I plan on crafting armor (and likely a Staff) with the fade touched material that grants +5 guard on hit and possibly even silverite so that my KE can wear Heavy Armor (depending upon what schematics, crafting materials, etc. are available in TBE). At least that will somewhat mitigate the bonus damage reduction to Sprit Blade, since I would have both guard and barrier.

Are we absolutely sure that the Spirit Blade single-player nerf is as bad as it sounds? I just started a character that I intended to make a Knight-Enchanter, but if Spirit Blade is just a dumb sword now, I'll probably just stick with Rift Mage. Yeah, this is kind of a big deal to me.

I don't understand why they need to do anything to Spirit Blade in singleplayer. Can that specialization get pretty OP? Totally. But you don't have to break anything to get there, you're just filling out the specialization that Bioware created. I can understand MP as it might put you at what could be considered an unfair advantage, but in SP where you're the only player? I don't see the harm in being OP. It's especially fun on a second playthrough when you just wanna relax and see the game again.

Well, if the notes mean what I think they mean, in order to make use of Spirit Blade now you have to be hitting multiple people with its AoE. At least 3 if you want to be doing the same effective damage that used to be possible against one enemy.
Using it against a single target is now just using an ability with the same base damage as a staff (ass), consumes mana, and does less dps than regular auto because it's slower.

I played with the latest patch installed on PC and tested out KE in single player.
I notice no difference at all from KE single player pre-patch. Nothing has been changed. Either the patch didn't install correctly or the change didn't apply. If it wasn't applied, then I am quite happy.
I think instead of trying to 'fix' stuff that doesn't need fixing, they should focus on actual issues people have been complaining about. Such as the Amulets of Power not showing up. It's been two patches and I've seen loads of people complaining about this and yet it appears to have not been adressed at all.

There was an erroneous 100% damage bonus (that was undocumented and in addition to the intended bonuses) which has been removed. That is the only single-player change.
Where did you learn about this undocumented and unintended bonus?
#20
Posté 05 mai 2015 - 01:59
The first two apply only to multiplayer; the last applies to both.Straight from the source (me!):
Mana cost up from 10 to 20
Barrier and Guard damage bonus reduced to 100% for both from 400/200
Also, the upgrade was secretly adding a bonus 100% damage which I removed as it was unintended

Aight, I see. That's pretty ambiguously worded just from reading the notes. It probably should have said something like "fixed issue with Defending Blade applying bonus damage" or something.

True, but TBH, I think it would had been fine as it was. Spirit blade did a good chunk of damage without being too overpowered.
