Why would the voices take you to the shrine if they weren't being controlled?

Why do you think they had to be controlled to talk you to the shrine? One has nothing to do with the other?

1. That's irrelevant. You're making excuses for Bioware as if I'm scolding them for the possible change. I'm not. I'm just asking if it's been retconned.

2. I said in the OP this is irrelevant if Flemeth lied about her intentions with Morrigan.

You don't need to be so defensive. The first point matters. I'm not excusing Bioware. You asked if Bioware changed their mind. I'm saying that there's a reasonable argument that they didn't because of how DA:O developed. As to the second point, well, again, it matters if Flemeth is lying when she says that Morrigan has to consent to getting a +1.

I must admit, if it is a twist it's a very... weird one. What, Flemeth would rather be killed and have to do an elaborate resurrection dancing around the topic rather than saying "I am not planning to possess Morrigan". Her dialogue seems to imply that Morrigan could be lying, that it's a question of who to trust, though this strikes oddly because Morrigan mentions all sorts of foul things done by Flemeth and yet Inquisition seems to support that she's telling the truth (she really does believe Flemeth will possess her).
